Email Alerts??

Hello. I have selected "Watch this thread" and "and receive email notifications" for a couple of threads. I will get an email or two soon after that, but the email notifications stop shortly after that. I have gone back to the threads and see that there have been responses, but I did not receive an email notification. Is there a reason that this may be happening? Thank you
