What is the usual for EM gifts? Is this the norm? If so, what do I buy? I wasn't sure what to do...how about my officiant??? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks! Megan

Oh my god, do I have to buy my EM and Officiant gifts? I hadn't even contempalted this as they probably get paid enough from Disney anyway, we are on such a tight budget.

Typical wedding procedure is to pay the officiant and give him/her a tip... or make a donation if there is no set fee. (Our rabbi asked for a specific donation amount).

But this is disney, so I don't know. Hopefully that helps a little.

DD gave the officiant an engraved nameplate for his desk and the EM a crystal slipper on a crystal pillow that she purchased in Arribas Brothers on Main Street in MK. The EM sent DD a Tiffany sterling silver picture frame!!!

I have thought about the EM, but I hadn't considered the officiant.
honestly, it doesn't have to be something that breaks your budget. I have heard that a lot of people get them something from their hometown (t-shirts, etc.)
We will probably collect somethings that you can only get in North Carolina to give our coordinator.
I am not sure what to do about the officiant.

EM's are not allowed to accept money and the gift can not exceed $75. We are sending a gift certificate to a department store. The officiant was our brother-in-law so we did not have to pay him but we got him a nice gift.

ypmurg - Although these may be the rules, if you feel that your EM and SM went all out for you and want to purchase something extra special for your them that exceeds those limits you are more than welcome to. They can not refuse the gift.

My EM and SM went above and beyond the call of duty when it came to my wedding so for my EM I purchase a pair of Neiman Marcus Exclusive Diamond earrings, and for my SM I gave a David Yurman broach which I gave to them the day before our wedding at our rehersal. They absoltuely LOVED them!!! My EM wore the earings on my wedding day and the SM came by my wedding to say thank you and showed me that she was wearing it.
As for the Officiant, we gave him 100.00 extra dollars and invited him to the reception in which he kindly declined.

Please dont use what I gave as a ordinary gift because it is not. I just felt that they went an extra mile for me so a special thank you was needed.

What you can afford as well as how attentive they were to you should be put in consideration when purchasing a gift.

Good Luck!!!

nice gift. I was just going by what I was told by my EM. But that does make sense.

I agree with Ellie...........i also gave cash because i was so pleased with my EM. I gave my officient 50.00 as well.
