We're tentatively planning a trip to Disney in the fall, and like almost all the other little girls, my little one loves Frozen. I know the Disney store is having a sale on their Elsa costumes, but I live very much in nowheresville and don't want to pay shipping if I can avoid it. Amazon is also having a sale on thiers as well and prime free shipping makes it so tempting. Unfortunately there are no reviews at all on this costume.

It looks nice, and it's $13 when it used to be $150. While usually I hate disguise costumes, I've liked some of the previous prestige ones. We had a Cinderella and Belle Prestige before and they were fairly nice. Does anybody have any experience with this costume or has anyone seen it in person?

The regular prestige (not ultra) is also on sale, but it's around $20. It has reviews but they're not very detailed and paying more for something that was a cheaper product to begin with feels odd to me.

Then there's the tutu prestige from $9-$14 (was $90), again with no reviews. It doesn't look as much like Elsa, but might be easier for a kid to get around in a theme park while wearing.

Any thoughts folks? Anyone else other than me tempted to buy these at these prices? These are good prices, right?

(if this would go better on a budget forum rather than a family board let me know. I just thought since it was a kids costume, it might belong here.)

I think the ultra prestige for 13 is worth the risk. I bought my daughter frozen fever anna costume from amazon for around that price in the fall and I was very impressed. I did reinforce the seams with my machine. It's still in good shape and she wears it all the time. If you don't think it will hold up in the parks, I am sure she'll appreciate the new dress up clothes!

Go for it, what could it hurt. My daughter had cheap princess dresses that she's worn to parks over several trips and which her aunt, who works miracles at a sewing machine, has expanded the size and added features.

For $13 I'd risk it. Even if you don't like that much, she can wear it at home a few times. If you really hate it, you could return it.

Buy it. For $13 its worth the risk especially if you have a frozen fan like my DD. The great thing about Prime is that you can just return if the quality isn't great.

I ended up buying it and it is gorgeous. Honestly, it looks way better than the new Disney Store version. I put in a review at amazon so the next person who's interested will have more information. I would highly recommend buying this. While the retail price of over $100 is ridiculous, $50 is what I'd expect it to be.

I love how it looks like Elsa's dress, not just a palette swapped layers-of-tulle princess dress. It's a well made, well-lined, high quality sheath dress with slit. It comes in a garment bag even :).

Thanks for everyone's advice. Hopefully my DD will be super happy with it come Easter (I'm putting it away as a present) and will look amazingly Elsa in the parks this fall.
