I was looking on MDE to see what wait times were like and noticed that Ellen's Energy Adventure wasn't listened under the wait times at all. I know it usually didn't have a wait, but wasn't it included in the list? Admittedly, I haven't looked for it before but I feel like I've seen it with a 5 minute wait.

No need for a wait, as just as soon as they empty the pre-show room into the theater-cars area, they can load the pre-show room again. And, they continuously allow guests to enter that pre-show right up almost until they empty it again into the theater-car area again.
Virtually a "continuous loading" situation with virtually no outside waits (under normal conditions) all day long.

But, yes, there are brief times when the outside CM will tell guests that if they will wait outside for X minutes, they can see the full (pre) show from the beginning.

I know it is closing, maybe it is closed already. I can't recall seeing a closing date. Usually if a ride is just temporarily out of service it will still list it.

I read online the end date is August 13 so I really hope it's not fully closed since I'll be there in a little over a week to ride

We just went on it yesterday, caught the pre-show as it was starting. Good info by Robo

How long is the preshow? I'm thinking we might as well watch the whole thing add or is our last time. Wondering what the worst case scenario is. Is there a way to tell if the preshow already started before walking in?

I am going to echo what I said in another thread I have no memory of this ride what did I miss and I am a massive fan of the Ellen show is it her or a different Ellen did I miss a great ride

It's a "show" so there won't be a posted wait time. Your wait is just until the next show starts

All the shows won't be listed under mde wait times because they don't have a fluctuating wait time. Ellen, Lion King, Indy, etc

1. The entire time guests spend in the theater is about 41 minutes.
That INCLUDES the whole pre-show (which is very entertaining and sets up the rest of the attraction) which,
alone, runs about 8-10 minutes.
2. There's a small LED clock just outside the main entrance doors that counts down the currently-running pre-show.
But, just tell the CM outside the attraction that you want to go in and see the entire pre-show,
and (s)he'll tell you when to enter.
