Ellen's Energy Adventure... 45 minutes... really????

I love this ride. It's funny, informative and a great place to get off your feet for a while. I didn't even realize that it was 45 min. The dinos are great, but I do find myself thinking, "please don't sneeze on me" when we go by the brontosauruses. Must be some latent "Jurassic Park" nightmare.

When first entering the theater, where should we sit to be in one of the first cars into the ride, and the first out? Also, where should we sit to be in the last car to go in?
Really, IMO it doesn't matter. We go in June/July and have never seen it full or even nearly full. The "cars" are enormous and hold a ton of people and there are I think 3 or 4 ways to enter to get in them. The pre-show area is a HUGE open room and then the doors open and you enter the "car" area from 3 or 4 doors. Really, I would not worry about being first in. People tend to go to the front of the "cars" to sit, habit I guess, but when you exit, you do exit from the rear, so I guess if you want to be first out, sit in the back.

"Cars" really is the wrong I word, I should stop using it :rotfl: What they really are are rows upon rows of seats. The floor is divided and it is the actual floor that splits up and moves, sort of along the line of TGMR for lack of a better description. Picture a bunch of the seat cars from TGMR all lined up next to each other, than they split apart and the whole section of seats move, as they do in TGMR. I think the seat section to the far left goes first, while the far right goes last.

Clearer? or more muddled than ever? Hope it helped and didn't muddle it more for you!

My cousin timed it before. When you're actually in the car itself, it is only 27 minutes long.

Yes.

The "overall" attraction, including the full pre-show/intro film, the loading/unloading of the theater vehicles, and the actual "ride" takes about 45 minutes, all added together.

(IMO)
EEA vies with Maelstrom (the movie after the ride; love the ride) for the title of most agonizing WDW moments!
Seriously 45 minutes is about 40 minutes too long!
However it is quite cool and dark;-)
DH usually has a snooze

I've met Bill Nye a few times. He once told me that the only reason people go on that ride is because it's so long and air conditioned - makes for a nice rest.

We usually do this ride. Sometimes we get a FP to Test Track and go over to universe of energy while we wait.

Name dropper!

Actually, I go because I get a kick out of the campy Bill Nye music! Tell him THAT the next time you see him!

Love this ride! It's our relaxing ride.
One time it broke down in the begiining of the ride. DD was 4yrs old, we got to do a behind the scene tour :woohoo: .
