I can vaguely remember riding on a ride at epcot with make believe dinosaurs... I assume this is what transformed into Ellen's Energy Adventure. My dd's love dinosaurs so I'm sure they would enjoy this ride. However, is it really 45 minutes???? Why on earth would they make an attraction that lasts so long. 45 minutes is a LONG time to remain seated. What if someone needs to get off? What do they do for so long and how long is the driving through the dinosaurs part? Would you recommend this attraction? We only have one day at epcot so want to do as much as possible.

I don't remember any dinosaurs on Ellen's Energy. It is just a very big screen show. It is rly about 45 minutes. DH and I didn't know and we were seated closed, gave us a headache by the time the 45 min was up

Ellen's Energy Adventure does indeed include the dinosaurs, and it does really take a long time. I didn't time it, but it was at least 30 minutes.

I really like the attraction buy don't go on much anymore because it does take so long. There is a movie first, then you get into a large moving car and go through the ride. It is really interesting and I'm sure your children and you will like it.

It was a very looong ride, luckily it broke down near the end and we had to exit the ride :lmao: Oh, and I do remember a dinosaur area too.

We love it when we're tired and need a place to crash for a bit before moving on again. My mom actually fell asleep in it and was nice and refreshed afterward!

This attraction was reworked years ago into "Ellen's Energy Invention". The first version was really awful. After you passed thru the dinosaurs, it was like a lecture. Boring and long.

Currently, the pre-show has Ellen doing a "Jeopardy" performance and Bill Nye "The Science Guy" takes her on a fact finding trip. That's when you get in the seats that move you thru the attraction (including some dinosaurs). I like that current version (though it could use some updating) and find that the time passes quickly and since you're seated, it's restful. Well, once you get past the dinosauars:cutie:

There are some aspects of the scale of the ride that are pretty cool, and there are definitely dinosaurs. If you choose not to see it on this trip, it will be waiting for a future one.

After we got through the dinosaurs, I was waiting for the car to take us somewhere else, but it never did. They really should just shuttle you around through dinosaurs and end it.

It really is 45 minutes. The first 8 minutes is a film with Ellen to draw you into the story. The remaining 37 is in the movable car (maybe 10 with the dinosaurs). I can't remember the last time I was so bored. My daughter and her friend who love Ellen couldn't wait for it to end. Disney is usually great at putting a story together and making it work. Not in this case. Don't waste your time at Epcot; there are so many other wonderful things to do.

I "like" this attraction but it's not a must do for me. Last year I didn't. Not sure if I will this year. But I do recall enjoying the break from walking!

I like this attraction too but it does take a while. It's perfect for middle of the afternoon when it's hot out and you want to rest for a bit.

What if someone needs to get off?

Well you can't, well you can but if you leave the car the ride will E stop and they have to reset the ride, not a quick thing o do.

They warn you at least 3 times (?) that once you go in the room with the cars its a 37 minute ride.

I am an Ellen fan and love it. It is a do-not-miss for us. DD 13 also loves it. I always wish we had time to see it a second time on our trip, but it is kinda hard to work in another 45 minutes for something you saw earlier in the trip. LOVE IT!

My only wish is that they would update the Dinosaurs.

We LOVE this ride! It is a sure-fire-must-do for us every trip.

How can you not love it? It's got the "old" Disney, ancient dinosaurs a la Jungle Cruise era, and "new" Disney, Ellen & Bill Nye. No, it's not a thrill ride like it's neighbor Test Track, but a great ride on it's own merit (and this from someone who does NOT believe in evolution & the world being billions of years old. I take it for what it is, a great, entertaining ride at my favorite place, WDW). :thumbsup2

And yes, we timed it last trip and it really is 45 minutes. We refused to believe it until we timed it.

I love it. To me, this sums up the attraction best :lmao:

You can't get off once the ride portion of the attraction starts, and yes, it is about 45 minutes to do the whole attraction from start to finish. If anyone tries to exit once the ride starts, they have to stop, evacuate and reset the entire ride. So make sure you do bathroom breaks before entering, and if you think your party will most likely want to depart before the ride finishes (you have very young children or anyone else you are certain can't sit in one place for at least a half hour), consider not doing the attraction at all.

It's a long ride, seated, in an air conditioned building - sometimes in high summer that's worth more than all the thrill rides put together.
