I don't hate Rosie. She can be very funny, but I don't like her mean side. One of the things that sticks in my mind is when she told that Rosie Magazine staff member that she (the staff member) had cancer because she was a liar. What a heartless thing to say to someone! I also find Ellen more positive and happy. I saw Rosie's interview with Bob Newhart and it just seemed to be too formal and stilted. She was much more relaxed and fun with guests on her old TV show.

I can't really compare the two, as their both so different. I use to love the Rosie Show but her new show just isn't the same. Oprah's given Rosie's show the "Oprah treatment," the stage looks like Oprah, the formatting...Oprah. I think that was a very wrong approach to take. Humour wise, I LOVE Ellen, even after a bad day, she can make you laugh.

Pssst, hey folks, all lesbians ain't alike. :lmao:

And I don't watch either one of 'em! :rotfl:

I thought we were comparing them as afternoon talk show hosts....?

As lesbians, I still think I would like Ellen better.

Their sexual preference has nothing to do with their personalities and how they treat people. IMO people are people and who they choose to love/live with is their choice. Rosie just seems to be too opinionated and mean spirited, where Ellen appears to be far more compassionate and has a good heart.

Ellen strikes me as a genuine, down to earth person. Love her! Rosie is a big mouth with an abrasive personality.

Me too, I do like her humor better than Rosie's.

Just makin' a joke there, Stitch. :rotfl:

Rosie has always struck me as one of those comedians who uses humor as a facade to hide their anger, low self-esteem, and misanthropy. So when I see her "playing nice", I don't believe it. It all feels like an act to me.

And then there's her whole 911 conspiracy theory.

No thanks.

Ellen, she is a watch collector and at times is wearing hard to find pieces.

Let's not forget...that before the "curtain" was lifted EVERYONE that Rosie was the Queen of Nice.

I am sure Ellen has her moments where she is not nice no one becomes successful without being a little mean and self centered.

Ellen, has a pretty much brand new staff - I find that to be odd, why would you let go of all those people???? When she said that on her first day back I thought that was weird unless all of the people that work for her are interns.

What strikes me most about Rosie is the way she smiles. She shows her teeth, but her eyes and the rest of her face never change. She tries to look like she's smiling, but she clearly doesn't mean it. On the other hand, Ellen has a great smile. Her whole face lights up and she appears to be genuinely feeling the emotion. Rosie comes across as being really vacant sometimes.

I love them both. I grew up watching Rosie's show, and when it ended I started watching Ellen's when her show came out.

I think a celebrity Boxing Match between them with an under ticket of Leno and Lettermen would be epic.

Although I very, very rarely watch - if I had to choose one or the other it would definitely be Ellen..

I don't like Rosie - at all..

I used to watch Rosie.

I have caught some bits and pieces of Ellen's show.

I used to enjoy Rosie's show--but post show, she was a completely different person than she portrayed herself on tv. Other folks have hit on it--she is mean and too political and expresses her opinions in a condescending manner and is entirely unlikable. I sort of think Donald Trump at a point in "some" (not all) of his comments after their little tiff. She behaves like a brat who doesn't get her way. Her noble efforts have long since been overshadowed by her nastiness.

Ellen--I just love her! She actually seems to enjoy life.

If her show had been on at the same time of Rosie's original show--I might have even flipped over and preferred it. She has a different type of humor that I really enjoy. I have no interest in ever seeing Rosie on anything ever again.
