Have any of you seen this? I just came across this by accident and have to say I was REALLY surprised to see how she acted and hear how she spoke. Whenever you see her on the show, on a talk show or in an interview she is void of any accent. But when you watch this where she has no idea she's being filmed you can hear a definite accent. It just took me by surprise.

LoL, that was fun, thanks for sharing. I heard a teeny bit of an accent but not much? She treated the whole situation pretty well...

I think after I saw that the first time (which was a few months ago) is when I really started to like Ellen Pompeo. I love real people, people you'd meet on the street or in your neighborhood. She seems very real and down to earth to me. :goodvibes

I can not be the only person who does NOT like Ellen Pompeo!!!

What was with all that snooty behaviour and rude comments? And all of that hair twirling? So full of herself.

and, Ohhh that food just 'didn't do a thing for her".

Ughhhhh

Makes me feel better... I am not alone!

I didn''t even bother watching the entire clip before, but I just went back to see if I could pick up on more of what the whole gag was about. But, the only thing that I really noticed was that suddenly her ankle-length skirt was pulled up mid-thigh, and her legs were very prominantly displayed out from under the table....

So you don't like her because her dress was pulled up? :confused3

I think she acted how most of us would act if we didn't know the camera was on us. She had on a big floppy dress, she probably was just comfortable in it and thus the reason it was hiked up a little. I certainly don't think its something to dislike someone over.

She's from the Boston area and her accent does come out when I've seen interviews on local programming with her.
I like her a lot. Not a fan of her character but she seems very gracious.

I must be the only person who really likes her character as well as the actress herself. I think her character is hilarious....I loved when she was looped on the painkillers on that one episode. :lmao: I love that Meredith is wishy washy and not really sure of herself....seems more true to life than most characters on TV who are so perfect but so unrealistic.

She was very nice to the waitress even though the waitress was hitting on her boyfriend. How many of us can say we wouldn't make snotty comments about the waitress when she left. I would! ;) In fact, her boyfriend used her card to leave the waitress a $200 tip. I might have gotten a little nastier than she did.

She grew up in my hometown. She had a tough childhood. Her mom died when she was little and she and her siblings were raised by their dad. Our town is blue-collar, working class. She certainly wasn't born with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Oh I can guarantee I would not have been anywhere near as gracious as she was over the $200 tip! :lmao:

Oh, and I've heard her do that "over the top" accent when she talks about Vegas on Grey's before. I think she was just being silly.

Oh yeah, it would bring a whole new level of entertainment to Punk'd. :rotfl:

no, I have never been crazy about her - and especially not her character..the storylines with her are the reason I lost interest in Grey's at the end of last season....

maybe a bit of an attitude, but don't feel she handled the situation all that badly....

To be honest, I was kind of caught off guard by her behavior. I like her character but guess I don't really like her too much in person. I thought the way she acted was a little tacky.

If that happened to myself and hubby we'd maybe get a giggle out of it but I can't say I'd say something like she did about blood trickling down the waitress's face. Kind of weird.

Wow--it's funny how we can all watch the same thing and get such different opinions! That's what makes the world go 'round I guess.

I thought she appeared rude and arrogant. When I first saw the clip (awhile ago) it really turned me off to her and I actually found myself disliking her character on Grey's after that, too.

I like her! I think most of us would have made some sort of comment after the waitress left. I know I wouldn't have just sat there eating my crabcakes! ;)
