Eliptical Machine question!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Can anyone recommend a decent eliptical machine. I want to spend at the most $500. I know thats not alot of money to get a really good eliptical. I just want one that will get the job done and not breakdown alot. Any suggestions would be greatly appriciated.

I don't know that you can get one in that price range that won't break down and cause problems. I wish--I'd love to have one at home.

They seem to be tempermental, even in the higher price ranges.

We have a NordicTrack Audio Strider 800. We bought it 2 years ago and it get very frequent use. I have been happy with it and we haven't had any problems with it at all. It folds up too so that is a nice feature if you don't have a lot of space. We don't use that because we have a nice area for the machine. I think we spent about $700 though but it might be less now since it is older.

I have the Nordic track Audio Strider 600... I really like it! It also has the fold up feature and runs great. I was tempted to buy the other "off" brands, but I decided that if I was gonna put the money towards the machine, then I wanted a good one! I 'think' mine was around the $500 mark. I bought is a few years ago and it still works great Good luck with your purchase

Not the smoothest ride, squeaky, problems with the display.

To bad you are not closer to Florida! I have a Pro-Form 900 which is made by Nordic Track, I can honestly say that it has never given me any problems but that maybe because I can't do more than 10 minutes at a time on it! So after the holidays when people make their resolutions to loose weight I am going to make some room in my spare bedroom and get rid of it! I had all the intentions in the world of using it and I know exercise means work but the eliptical is way to much work for this old lady. I got it from Sports Autority and I don't think it was $500.00

I have one that I absolutely adore, even over the ones at the gym, but mine was $1600.00 and that was one sale.
