So, I have a question. Is the Elias and Company Department store gong to be an actual Department Store? or will it just be another place to buy the same old things? How great would it be if were department store style , like here in Los Angeles, where the old Bullocks building is, which is now a law school. But, back in the early days of Hollywood, Bullocks had a tea room up top, and the ladies salon , had chaise lounges, and models would come out and model the latest fashions of Adrian... The Tea Room was actually the place where Greta Garbo wore pants in public waaaay before it was cool for women to do so. Anyhoo, how great would it be if Elias and Co. would be even close to the early days of Hollywood Glamour.....anyone have any insight on what it will be like?

She also explained how different design elements can help create separate spaces – for example, the different spaces within Elias & Co., which will be the main merchandise location for the area. Separated into four areas, it will be built to resemble a classic department store. The main space, inspired by some of the older department stores along L.A.’s Wilshire Blvd., will make a grand statement with lots of stone – especially lighter-toned, pinkish-hued marble as seen in the rendering above. By contrast, the kids’ “department,” which will be the toy location, will be colored with a brighter, more playful palette.

“Color is a very important design element,” Lynne said. “It creates mood and volume.”

@Skiingfast.... Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Thank you so much for sending me the link. I am so excited to see this. To see Los Angeles and Hollywood through the eyes of a young Walt Disney...... I love Los Angeles and Hollywood History and have studied it for years. I think the Disney Imagineers will really nail it!

I used to go shopping at the old Bullocks with my Aunt and Uncle, it was real uptown back in those days....that brought back many memories.
