Elf on the shelf at the world!

Sorry if this has been asked (I did search!).

We will be going to DW Dec 1-8th. We always have our "elf" make its appearance starting the day after Thanksgiving. We had a Disney trip during Christmas time In 2012, we actually had our Elf "surprise" the kiddos with their trip.....but then the elf got shoved into luggage for the trip - I had to pull her out because my 5 year old panicked where she was, so I was pulling straws trying to be creative in the room. This year I'd like to have a game-plan for Elf ideas. I was going to do tinkerbell gifts this year but maybe incorporate the elf instead? I just don't want then to come to "expect" gifts from our Elf because it sure won't happen at home!!

Gah! Any ideas?? Mainly for our mischievous elf? Thanks!!

This is great! Our 2 elves are coming with us on our trip in December as well
I've planned that the first night they will decorate the resort window with those stick on Christmas decorations. I also plan on making them some little Mickey Mouse ears...
I need some ideas too- our elves are usually pretty naughty here at home!

Our elf came with us last year. I don't have any pics, but we did a few different things.

We did shaving cream on the bathroom mirror(which we cleaned up prior to leaving the room for the day)
We did toiler paper "mess" over the dresser/tv (which we left and was still there when we got back that night)
The rest of the days were pretty normal....hanging from a light fixture, chilling on the back of the toilet, that kind of stuff

We are going in December and our elf will be coming along! We found a mickey elf shirt on etsy, and the mickey ears (from a keychain) on the pictured idea below. Also while we are there, the elf is going to be setup one morning reading Mickey Saves Christmas to the kids stuffed animals. We're also bringing Disney stockings for the elf to show up with one morning.

Creepy to some - fun to others! My children are in no way threatened or creeped out by our elf. She is silly and kind hearted. Thanks to everyone for the fun ideas - keep them coming!!

Not any "scarier" than Santa, elves, Jesus, angels or even cameras everywhere! Take it with a grain of salt and have some fun

Who says it is only to teach children to behave. Lessons about God/Jesus have a moral and an overall message to be kind and be the best version of yourself you can be, but there is much more to it than just behave or else. It is what each family makes of it and for our family it is making it fun and to be kind to one another, but most importantly memories. We love the fun crazy elf silliness. I hope it is something my kids remember as a fun Holiday tradition and like another poster said no creepier than many other traditions that have been common for years.



Nothing to add for ideas b/c we didn't do the Elf at WDW, but we love our elf and clicked on this thread because I was just curious what fun stuff people did at WDW with them. Love the Mickey ears.
