I know, I'm planning WAAAY ahead. What else is new? We'll be staying at AKL in the Kidani villas Dec. 3-10th and I just realized our elf usually shows up on December 1st. Anyone have any great ideas for mischief at the resort?

Sorry... no ideas here but I wanted to let you know you aren't alone in planning WAY too early:rotfl: My husband thought I lost my mind yesterday when I said we needed to start thinking about Christmas presents soon:rotfl2:

We're going to be at BLT Dec 5-13... luckily though our elf isn't very mischievous. He just likes to hide in different places. I do have to remember to pack him.

I would have the elf kissing tinkerbell or eating a mickey rice krispies treat.

How about arranging the elf and your kids stuffed toys to look like they're over a campfire?

You could have him sitting with a park map like he is planning his day.

You could have him over at the coffee maker making a Mickey head with the sugar.

You could make a towel animal like a horse or something and have him riding it.

You could have him tucked into bed with the TV remote.

You could have him in the window with a little sign that says something funny like "I flew all the way to Orlando to see the inside of a hotel room" or "I would rather be on It's a Small World."

To be honest I would probably leave him at home and just enjoy him when you get back, I am so tired when I get back form the parks that tiptoeing around to set this up at night with the kids sleeping right there sounds hard :rotfl2:

lol, those are great! Thank you! Honestly, I don't think I sleep a wink when I'm in Disney... it's horrible but true. I need about 2 hours to wind down when we get back at night and I'm usually up an hour before anyone else. I'll sleep when I get home.. lol.

I think this is a great idea. You could have so much fun with this. Just another idea if you didn't want to worry about placing your elf, you could just sit him somewhere everynight and have him holding a sign. maybe the sign says which park you will be visiting that day as a surprise for the kids when they wake up, or maybe it's a Disney qoute and the kids have to guess what movie it is from, or maybe it's some fun fact, or a disney trivia question. So many fun ideas!

Good luck with this.

We took Elroy with us once. He played in the bathroom with the Disney toiletries, was placed all over the room. Had fun with the stuffed animals. He brought DS a toy that he had wanted from the park that day, but didn't get. Brought Disney candy. Have fun with it!!!!!

We have not taken our elf to WDW because I am scared I would goof it up in such a confined space. DS6 who does not believe in the Tooth Fairy, or Bunny and barely Santa, truly believes that Buddy is real!:thumbsup2.Buddy moves many times a day and gets in all kinds of trouble. HOWEVER, I think it would be soooo fun to have him in the room at WDW. I would purchase some cool Disney items and have him bring those to the kids. Mickey Ears, their refillable mugs, a t-shirt, Fun WDW theme snacks etc. He can still get into stuff in the room. Have him toss clothes out of the drawer, read your guild book, pose with stuff animals, take a bath in the sink, wear your child's PJ's, shoes, underwear etc. Just figure out how you are going to move him if you all leave the room at the same time.

Just awesome ideas everyone, thank you! We'll be staying in a one bedroom villa at Kidani so it shouldn't be too difficult to pull it off. My kids are good about zonking out after a day at the parks and if need be, I can have my dad & sister leave with the kids a few minutes before me :) I'm so excited now!

Our Elf came with us to Disney in Dec 2011. I just did the normal moving around the room to various spots. Nothing creative at all. You could have so much fun with this! I am totally envisioning you making miniature mouse ears out of black felt, pipe cleaner & pom poms for your elf to wear! How cute would that be?

We've travel quite a bit around the holidays (though never to Disney.) Here are a few of the less messy/easier ideas we use when in a hotel room.

1. Toilet Papering:
Our elf has toilet papered the headboard, lamps and ceiling fans in hotel rooms. Just go light on the toilet paper so that it is fast and easy to clean up.

2. Dry Erase Markers:
Dry erase markers easily wipe off of mirrors. Our elf has used them to write different sayings on mirrors and to draw a picture of himself on a mirror. When we're ready to leave for the day, we just grab some toilet paper and wipe it away before the maid comes in.

3. Bath in the Sink:
Elf fills up the sink and use the drain stopper to keep water in there. Elf then puts on the shower cap (bring a small rubber band so you can make sure it stays on) and sits beside the sink next to the shampoo and conditioner bottles.

4. Mustaches:
Our elf was caught putting those sticky mustaches on a couple of DSs stuffed animals. 2 already had mustaches on them, and he was standing over the third animal with a mustache in hand. DS thought it was funny that he was caught in the act. Just plan ahead to buy the mustaches, but it is easy to set up and easy to clean up.

5. Elf Bank Robber:
Our elf robbed a bank in the middle of the night. When we woke up, there were wanted posters in our hotel room, and we caught Elf hiding with a bandana over the bottom half of his face, and a sack of gold chocolate coins. I think I remember seeing chocolate coins and dollars in Disney, so this may be very easy to pull off there, if you just print a couple posters before you go.

I think if you're good at Photoshop, you might even be able to take a couple of the Disney ride pictures or Character pictures and insert elf's picture (and maybe even some of their other stuffed animals) into the photo. Have elf sitting around the table looking at his ride/character photos, so it seems like he snuck out and played in the parks all night.

Or, if your kids have autograph books, maybe you can use a page where Elf adds his autograph. Make it special with stickers or something fun and interesting. Then place elf sitting by the books with a pen in his hand.

I LOVE this idea of the mini-mouse ears!!! Guess I better get crafting!

We'll arrive in DL around 9pm (driving down), so the first morning I think our elf will surprise the kids with autograph books and sharpies!!!

:yay:

What about having him sign autograph books?
