Elf help!!

I posted this over on one of the other boards but have not received much of a response and I need help!!

The kids and I were at a thrift store over the weekend and found a "lost" elf. Of course, we had to buy him and bring him home. I really hadn't thought about having a 3rd elf and therefore I am very unprepared in terms of a name and things for him to do.

The kids have written a letter to Santa to let him know that this elf is safe, but now I need to compose a reply. Any ideas for names and for a backstory of how he ended up at the thrift store to begin with?

Has anyone else dealt with this? Help please!! And thank you!!

Here a few my DD suggested. One was her elf , the other a friends; Blueberry VonMuffin or Heather McSpice. At the grade school the older children wrote to the younger kids. Maybe the elf fell off the sleigh.

I'm not much help on the name, but for the story as to how he got there, maybe he was visiting the family he stays with, and saw a box marked donation, and crawled inside to sleep on a blanket, not knowing what it meant? The next day, the box went to the thrift store, and neither santa nor the family knew about it, until your kids found him.
