Do you have to go through the middle to get onto the boardwalk or is there another set of elevators mid way down? Just curios about getting to the Screen Door and how huge of a hassle is it? I think someone told me once there is no back way in so if it is raining...?

there is plenty of steps - but both resorts have all their elevators together - right off the lobby.

So you will walk

There is only 1 set of elevators, near the lobby. I think that was a big design mistake when they built it. They should have also put elevators on the far ends. There are stairs in several areas.

There is no back entrance to the Boardwalk stores & restaurants, you have to go outside. I remember one night on a trip a couple years ago when it was raining very hard, a guy in the lobby was making a scene when they told him there's no restaurant in the building without going outside.

hey that is what room service is for - when it is raining and you don't want to go outside - of course DVC members generally don't have this problem - because even the studios have enough equipment to prepare a meal.

but I really like the room service!!!

I'm a little confused, but I thought I just got on the elevator, pushed #1, then was out under a covered area. From there I could scoot over to the Screen Door under an overhang (isn't it right next to the Village Green, where I was?). But, like I said, not sure about my memory.

I'm not sure I'm clear on the responses. The main elevator bank goes all the way down to the pool, workout room and boardwalk level. Doors exit at teh back of the resort near the game room. Some of the walk to the boardwalk is covered, some is not. There is also an elevator on the Boardwalk Inn side that leads down to the Boardwalk level and exits out the front of the resort on the Flying Fish side of the boardwalk.

The ground floor takes you out back by the pool and you can go under cover for a lot of the way. If you get off on the 2nd floor(lobby) then go out and down the stairs you are less protected. I'll take the rain, it sure does beat the snow.:teeth: Yes, it's been a long winter!:)
