Elevator noise?

Just found out that we are midship (catagory 5) RIGHT by the midship elevators. Is this very noisy? Anyone stay in either 7044-46-48? I would love to hear your experience. Thanks!

We've been in that vicinity and have never had a problem with elevator noise.

On our first cruise, we stayed mid-ship right at the elevator on deck 2 and never heard a thing!

On our May 1st cruise we stayed Midship on Deck six. No noise problems and no elevator noise. I'm not even sure the eleveators make noise when you stand right next to them.

Its a great location and very convienent!

I agree it's a great location. Esp for my mom who has congestive heart failure and long walks leave her breathless. Maybe I should have asked the question.... because it's by the elevators, is there a lot of traffic noise? People coming and going, up and down the stairs as well as the elevators? LOL I am happy to hear that it's nothing to worry about.

We were right off the aft elevators on deck six.

I was very concerned. Asked to be moved, but had booked late enough that I didn't have a choice.

We booked the same room for our next trip. It was so convienient to be able to get to the stairs. We never needed to walk through those cramped hallways. And any noise we heard was reasonable - or no less loud when "family that doesn't know what an inside voice is" went down the hall - at least in the lobby the voices had somewhere to go!

Thanks Crisi! Sounds like we'll be in a good location. I'm especially happy about that for my mom! Now this time.... if I can get us in a close building at the Poly. Supposedly the TA told them about her condition but we didn't get any of the 2 or 3 close buildings we requested. Hope it works out better this time.

We've been near the forward elevators several times in the SPRs, the aft elevtors once, and the midship elevators once. I am very sensitive to hallway noise, but we never heard any in any of those locations.

Thanks Barb, the DCL Goddess! LOL. We're not going until June and this will be DH's and my 3rd cruise on the Wonder. First time just us. Last time with our daughter, mom and her friend. This next time it will be DH and I, Mom, my brother, wife and son. Dear daughter isn't going but I have told her that since she can't go, I would take her and a friend some other time. Sounded like a great excuse for me to go again!!
