I have heard about this for years, but have never seen it. Where do you go to see it? Is it worth it?

Thanks in advance

I never even heard about it the first time I saw it. We were resort hopping, and was taking a stroll along the beach at the Polynesian Resort and we could see it clear from across the lagoon.

Now, I haven't been there since the bungalows so I don't know how the view is now.

You can see it from anywhere around the Seven Seas Lagoon.

I think it's cool to see if we're in the area at the time, but I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. You can look up a video on youtube and see if it's something that appeals to you.

It makes stops at all the MK resort hotels, before stopping in front of the MK entrance. It's the same time every night. Just ask any one of the resorts what time it stops (CR, FW, WL, Poly, and GF). I am 45 years old, and have been religiously watching this parade every single time we come to Disney since I was a kid. I have it recorded on my ancient camcorder, on my mini camcorder, have dozens of photos, and have it recorded on my phone twice. It's awesome to see!!!! We have plans to see it twice in June!

We have a tradition of spending our first evening at Disney World having dinner at Polynesian (either Kona or Ohana) and eating ice cream while watching the Electrical Water Pageant from the beach. It's a wonderful, magical way to start our vacation. We all love it!

You can see the Electrical Water Pageant from the beaches or Marinas on the open lake side of any of the MK area resorts.

Its just a very short (5-7 minutes) "show" that takes place ON the lagoon.

Although Electrical Water Pageant generally follows the schedule below... Inclement weather can cause cancellation of the pageant.

Polynesian Resort -- 9 p.m.

Grand Floridian -- 9:15 p.m.

Wilderness Lodge -- 9:35 p.m.

Fort Wilderness -- 9:45 p.m.

Contemporary Resort -- 10:05 p.m.

Magic Kingdom -- 10:20 p.m. (only during extended MK park hours)

Note that when the Magic Kingdom Fireworks are scheduled for 9 p.m., the Electrical Water Pageant runs about 7-20 minutes later.

Electrical Water Pageant

The words conjure some phantasmagorical display of

dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...

My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.

"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"

can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Main Street Electrical Parade on the water", when it is really closer to oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.
