Was wondering if they are still enforcing the leaving of blankets? Would like to see the parade this week and hope we don't have to get there hours before the start. Any recent experiences?

I sure hope so. I also hope they are enforcing the no sitting for the parade until they put the ropes up.

DO NOT leave a blanket on Main Street to save a spot. Disneyland is not the beach. If you want to see a show/parade either commit to it or don't see it.

This. I wish the hotels would do this at their pools too. Towel on a chair with no one on it for 5-10 minutes? Gone...

I wasn't planning on leaving a blanket on Main Street.....just wanted to know if we could see the parade without waiting for hours. I would like to be able to sit on the curb when they put the ropes up.

Yes! This triggers me. I get if you are swimming it'll be longer but when you are swimming the chairs looked lived in; sunscreen, water, shoes etc.. it's the towels neatly placed with no owner in sight. :crazy2:

Get there when they put the ropes up and you are allowed to sit. If all the space has blankets, pick one, fold it up and put it off to the side. A blanket left on the ground doesn't mean someone owns the curb. If you can avoid that by finding a clear space, that should be your first choice.

I saw people sitting on curbs a couple hours before the parade but I don't recall seeing a lot of empty blankets. It was in no way as crazy as it was for Paint the Night. We were able to find a spot about 30 mins before the first parade. This was on a moderate day, it wasn't slow but it wasn't crazy busy either.

There are lots of blankets, but I haven't seen many unattended ones lately. There are quite a few families that leave one person with a blanket (which doesn't bother me personally).

We've seen the parade probably three times in the last six weeks and have waited about 75 minutes each time. We've had to hunt around for a spot, but have found a good one near Town Square each time.

We saw plenty of blankets, but I don't recall seeing any unattended ones. They were allowing people to sit down prior to any ropes going up. We found plenty of seating over by IASW about 45 mins before the first parade. Lots of spots available on Main St about 30 mins prior to 2nd parade.

You asked about blankets being left & not wanting to wait for the parade. Sorry I jumped to the conclusion that you were wanting to leave a blanket.

They do allow unattended blankets, but very briefly. They have cast members patrolling the parade route and if they see any unattended blankets they will ask who it belongs to and give them a timeframe for the rest of their party to appear otherwise they will have them free up the space. They let people start claiming spots on Main St. at 6:30p if the parade is at 8:45p(which it is all summer).

I have seen people leave their blanket to go get a drink or to use the restroom, but in that case it is best to tell your neighbors where you are going and ask them to explain when the CMs come calling. Also, if the patrolling CM comes by when you are leaving, just tell them so they are aware that you are coming back shortly.

They came around and cleared everyone who was sitting in Main Street on Wednesday last week. We were sitting on the curb waiting for our table at Carnation Cafe and were told to move. They wouldn't even budge when we said we were just waiting for our table and showed them our pager. I like not allowing people to camp out for the parade, but it seemed a little ridiculous that we couldn't sit on the curb right outside the restaurant while we waited for a table.
