I was just looking up things to do at Grand Floridian and saw this. We have an ADR at 1900 Park Fare and thought this might be fun to see.

We are going at the end of January. It shows this parade as being at 10:35. Does that seem right? MK closes at 8pm that day.

The EWP is one of the oldest entertainment offerings at WDW.
It is done on the lagoon and goes through all the MK resorts, performing it's 15 minute set
It will actually be by Grand Floridian at 9:15pm
You can look up videos on youtube

The "set" is more like 7 minutes.

Electrical Water Pageant

The words conjure some phantasmagorical display of
dazzling lightning-like high voltage interplay with glittering aquatic delights, no?

Well...

My favorite saying about these kind of "simple" things comes from Hawkeye Pierce on the old M*A*S*H TV show.

"It's not much, but it's really nothing."

Although I never miss a chance to see it... inappropriate "over-anticipation"
can be built up over the "Electrical Water Pageant".

People seem to be expecting to see "Main Street Electrical Parade on the water",
when it is really closer to seeing oversized "Lite Brite" pegs mounted on some barges,

with a "Casio Keyboard" music track.

Don't get me wrong, I still love it, and it's a piece of WDW History, but first-timers, please don't get your hopes set too HIGH.

This is low-key entertainment, but a welcome break from the parks. We like to stroll around GF, find our brick that my parents bought in the 90's, which used to live in front of the MK, but got moved, then walk over to the Poly for a Dole Whip and the EWP. We haven't done this for a few trips, though, and now I can't remember if they took the Dole Whip machines completely out of the Poly? It's a pleasant way to spend an evening, anyway.

I loooove the electric water parade. It's one of the reasons I'm so excited to be staying at Polynesian Village again, first time since the early 80's.
When I watch it it's such a throwback, I almost feel a little melancholy.

But I agree, don't get too excited about it!:rotfl:
