Electric Water Parade view areas/tips?

We are taking our 3 boys (ages 7,4,4) back to WDW in May and we are staying off property. Is there a good place to go to see the electric water parade and then perhaps catch a glimps of fireworks over the MK? We would not be interested in eating dinner anywhere (ie. O'hana). We'd just like to leave MK, hop on the monorail, go see the parade/fireworks and then head to the car to go back to the hotel and crash. Thanks for any tips!

From the beach at Poly Resort I'm not sure what time water parade will pass Poly Beach area.

You can watch the electric water parade from the ferry docks at the MK. We have seen it from there many times while waiting for our ferry back to FW. I'm sure if you asked at CM at MK they could give you a great place to watch from. You can also see the fireworks from the dock.
