Hi! My wife and I are scheduled to be at Disneyland next week but a few weeks ago she broke several ribs. The doctor has told her to go on the trip anyway and we are thinking about still going but she'll need a scooter for endurance including to and from the hotel. We are staying at Desert Palms on Harbor/Katella so ideally something nearby. We'll be there 6 days. I've tried a search here but didn't find much info (or did the search wrong). I"m assuming we can just recharge it each night in our hotel room or the lobby, but we'll of course check with the hotel. Thanks in advance!

I use Select Scooter they will deliver and pick up from the hotel, they have 3 and 4 wheel models.

Some recent research I did for a couple places that will drop off and pick up from Disney hotels - see below. You can check with them to see if they do non-Disney hotels too, and what times you can arrange.

In case this information could be helpful to anyone else, I spoke with a few of the outside scooter rental companies I've seen mentioned on the DIS and here's what I found if you're staying at a Disney resort.

Select Scooter Rental https://anaheimscooters.com/ 714-644-8057 Will meet you at your hotel for dropoff and pickup. Hours are between 8 am and 3 pm.

D&R Mobility Scooter Rental https://dandrmobility.com/ 714-883-8761 Will meet you at your hotel for dropoff and pickup. Sounds like business hours are doable, but they will discuss options once you know what time you need the scooter.

One Stop Mobility https://www.onestopmobility.com/disneyland/ 714-533-1444 will meet you at your hotel for dropoff and pickup. Hours are between 8am and 8pm, with 2-hour windows (e.g., 8-10am). They will call you when they are close to your hotel.

My husband used D&R mobility located at the grand legacy hotel just up the street from desert palms. We were concerned about the battery not lasting all day but had zero issues. Would use them again. Have a fun trip!!

Thanks again everyone for all the feedback! I called Desert Palms and they do not rent scooters there. We booked a scooter with D&R Mobility and will pick it up there as my wife can walk that far, or I'll just go get it for her. Desert Palms does not have a place in the lobby to store or charge scooters--they also require keeping the scooter in the room so we'll see how that goes. :) Surprisingly they do not allow scooter companies to drop off scooters at bell services or the desk. You have to be at the hotel to receive the scooter yourself. That surprised me but we can make it work by just picking it up from them. But in case anyone else comes across this thread staying at Desert Palms, know that you will not be able to start your vacation off with a scooter waiting for you there like apparently most hotels allow. Thanks again for all the help!

Just call them when you arrive and they will bring it over and call you when they get there.

Oops, I am the one that said Desert Palms had the scooter. We stayed at Desert Inn and Suites….I got the two hotels mixed up. Glad you got it worked out.

Which room type do you have at desert palms? We had the 1 queen bed and bunk bed room and it was a bit tight to fit the scooter, but it worked! Have a fun trip!

Sorry to be slow following up. This past trip was the last before we let our Magic Keys expire so I've not been on the boards since we returned. :) Our room was the Deluxe Studio Suite that has 2 queen beds, and then a sofa sleeper in the area a couple steps down. It worked great! There was room to park the scooter just past the bathroom door and before the carpeted 2-queen area. Plenty of room to walk past it and there was a plug right there.

D&R Mobility was excellent to work with and the scooter went all day for us without even risking running out of charge. We would definitely do it again if needed. It is SO much better to rent the scooter outside the parks so it can be used to and from the hotel/parks. Plus it is cheaper than renting from Disneyland and so much quicker. We just picked it up the first day on our way to the park and dropped it off our last day on the way back to the hotel. It was a game changer for her and I can't believe it took us so long to learn this!

Thank you for review! Glad it worked out well! :earsboy:💯

I think certain hotels have rules about scooters being picked up in person for liability issues if damage or goes missing/wrong guest, probably depends on hospitality company who manages property.

I'm glad it worked out! Did you pick it up with your car? Or your wife drove it over to the park on the first day?
