electric or battery LED alarm clock

I've read on the what not to forget threads to bring a LED alarm clock. I went to get one but there are battery operated ones, electric ones (traditional plug in), and ones with battery back up. For those of you experienced cruisers which one should I get? They were all about the same price just a few dollars different.

I would get the battery one since there are not many outlets onboard in the cabins. We just use a small LED travel clock that works great.

We are taking our battery one this time and did the last time too. It worked very well and saved one outlet for other electircal items.

Does the battery clock have a bright enough LED display to see during the day? The batery clock was kind of light. I was worried about it sliding off the night stand if the ship rocks a lot. Can you tell I've never cruised before and don't know how much the ship will sway and even if it does.

I've never had anything slide off the tables before but we did have closet dors that slide back and forth...I just put a towel in the door runner and that stopped that problem.

I assume you want the clock to be near the bed, so a battery-powered clock would be much better. The only outlets in the room are nowhere near the bed.

Thanks that's an important factor in which kind of clock to buy.

No alarm clock for us. We used the wake-up call service. Or had a lite breakfest delieverd by room service as our wake-up alarm.
