DH has been wanting an electric lift for the popup. He called one place and they wanted to install - total of
$1200. Does anyone who owns a popup know of a smaller, inexpensive handheld lift that would automatically crank up the popup? Versus the handheld crank.

There's a guy who sometimes posts on here and I had bookmarked his site. He is Tim and one of the modifications he lists on his site is to use a regular power drill (cordless in his case) to crank the roof. The adaptor/socket genie is the key but it might give you some ideas. Click on his socket genie link to try to find the one you need to match your crank. The socket genie site lists the pop-up manufacturers and which model socket genie should fit your brand of trailer. For my Jayco, for instance, I should probably select the 625 genie.

PS-I still have two teenage sons who can crank my roof but I may be looking to use something like this in a few years.

I just bought an extra hand crank and cut it off so it woould fit in a 1/2" drill. It needs to be a strong drill but you should be able to get a corded one for less than $150

Thanks bamaed - hubby just ordered one from the site you suggested.

Outstanding! He just saved himself a boatload of $$$$. :worship:

Maybe even enough to pay for the next Fort trip, eh?
