Electric Cars: They're Back!!

The CBS Early Show covered electric cars this morning. They are purely electric, go about 100 to 120 miles on one full charge, and high priced!

The manufacturer covered this morning was Hybrid Technologies, Inc. and they seem to be "charging" headlong into electric cars and lithium batteries!

I work for an University and our EH&S and some facilities divisions have electric cars. They are wicked cool but unfortunately it's illegal to drive them off campus.

I love the look and I think they look fun to drive, but, until everyone is driving the same size vehicle, I wouldn't feel safe driving something so small.

Are they planning to make an electric family car? Not an oximoron, but people do have needs.

They didn't say anything about that yesterday in the interview with the Rep but they did say the cars would get cheaper as more of them were manufactured. I believe they stated the cars are about $35,000.00 each right now.
