This ride is a Disney classic - I hope they don't change anything. How could a ride be any better? :rotfl2:

hahaha - donald duck - national emblem of mexico!

I hope they don't make the ride too good now, I really enjoy being able to walk right onto it in a hot sunny florida day. I always ride it for that reason!

Based on my not so scientific research of paying attention to the hispanics and how they decorate their cars around here, it would be Tweety Bird, not Donald Duck :)

Sorry, I don't agree that this is a Disney classic. Its an OK ride to kill some time and absorb some airconditioning, has some bright spots, but overall is just so-so.

Perhaps the re-hab will do something to change my mind on that. But just adding the 3 Caballeros's (wasnt' that set in South America, not Mexico by the way) won't do it.

By installing the tortilla making machine from California Adventure!!

Hey - it's better than stuffing in a couple unused display window props from a closed Disney Store in hopes they'll hock some plush from a movie no one's seen. They'll spend more money on the merchadise cart selling new 'Three Caballeros' pins than they will on the ride itself.

You say this somewhat in jest I believe but there is a chance for a ride tie-in here. Remember the 3 slightly over zealous sales people from the ride? Make them real people outside now and hock pins that way. Could actually be fun!

Maybe this is a way to spark interest in the El Rio del Tiempo movie coming out next summer! And maybe Jack Sparrow will meet the Three Caballeros in Mexico....he's not in EPCOT....yet

Oh, just a thought here, a 5-minute margarita cruise through Mexico!

Now that's Disney magic in the making!

It's about time..the ride is outdated. Those moving pictures along the ride are pretty bad whn you realize how far technology has come. There is so much more they could do with the ride.

But I agree, I do like being able to walk right on with no lines...no matter when you go.

Rio de Tiempo is one of my favorites - nice and calm, relaxing, entertaining enough (could be better, though). But I love Mexican history and culture and architecture, and I absolutely love the interior of the Mexico pavillion (I'm a sucker for any inside that looks like you are oustide).

They could certainly improve many aspects of the technology and could refurb everything else like they did with IASM last year where they just brightened up the colors and gave everything a good cleaning... :artist:

Has there been a line long enough to justify the queue area in 20 years? And, yes, the shopkeepers hustling their wares are an embarrassment.

Ah, nothing says Mexican culture and tradition like Donald Duck.

And I thought it was a lame duck before.... :rotfl:

All kidding aside...the ride is okay. It does get you out of the FL sun for a bit.

my DH will flip if they kill this ride -- he loves the annoying song at the end. i get to hear it nonstop on the trip to Disney (lucky me).

this ride is okay, it could for sure use some updating, but i think it will take away from the plaza if they make it three caballeros. the WS is more about the culture of the countries, so i don't understand why they would make this ride based on some cartoon?? they could just update the video/picture portion and maybe brighten it up a bit. three cabellros is just cheesy!!

Apparently, partially set in Mexico:

"A sequel to 1942's Saludos Amigos, the film is an adventure through parts of Latin America, combining live-action and animation.

Produced as part of the studio's goodwill message for South America, but less obviously propagandistic, the film again starred Donald Duck, who in the course of the film is joined by his old friend Jose Carioca, the cigar-smoking parrot from Saludos Amigos representing Brazil, and later makes a new friend in the persona of pistol-packin' rooster Panchito Pistoles, representing Mexico.

so this is all Epcot will have on the table for their 25th.... an updated ride.... I'm a little disappointed

But that is pretty much WDW these days - isn't it?
If Disney alllowed its shopkeepers to bargain, we could truly say that Epcot was a continuous world's fair.

I hope they don't change that looping groovy pool bar scene.
I'd like to see an erupting volcano and maybe some effects when you go through the pyramid...or a Tijuana room...
