I have heard a lot about Pecos Bill's and Cosmic Ray's at Magic Kingdom. But have heard little, if anything, about El Pirata y el Perico. So, Is it good? Would you recommend it? How was the food for the price?

my wife and i enjoy it and try to get smoething there everytime we go. i really dont remember if its priced reasonabel but i would recommend it.

It's fine. Not great, but much better than Taco Bell. ;)
We have eaten there only once, last January. We wanted a light lunch and we each got a platter that was two tacos each.
And they were larger than we needed/expected. We could have shared one. They were overflowing.
Last May, day after Memorial Day, the parks were packed, and El Pirata was closed!
Like everyone else, we went to Pecos Bills. Don't do that if this happens to you. Move on.
It was an absolute unenjoyable mad house. Guests had to stand over tables like vultures. You could only sit when others left.

That is a really good place to eat! The view is really good, you watch all the people having fun on aladdins carpets(from outside)
Inside is nice too. Although sometimes you gotta fight off the birds.
My mom had the taco salad (she thought is was excellent)
I had the nachos and tacos both were very good. I would have to say try it atleast once, but make sure to go when you're HUNGRY it'll fill ya up! Have fun.:)

We go the first part of December each year since 1992. Would love to try but it is never open during our visits. :(

Thanks for all of the input. The nachos and tacos sound wonderful. Has anyone had the empanada? I saw it on the menu in Deb's site. It sounds pretty good. But sometimes empanadas can be greasy.

I saw on Debs that it is open seasonally. From the above input it seems they are closed in December and late May. Does anyone else know any more times that they are closed? Thanks.

The tacos & nachos are really good. The taco salad is good, too. Splitting the nachos & tacos, followed by a pineapple float from Aloha Isle (also in Adventureland), is one of our favorite meals at MK.

I ate there for the first time in July and enjoyed it. The tacos that I ordered were a good size and were reasonably priced for WDW standards, $4.75 I believe for the two tacos. The atmosphere was much quieter that the madhouse Pecos Bills is as described by another poster. What makes it nice is that it is connected to Pecos Bills by an interior hallway in case one of your party does not want a mexican dish, they can get their burger and come back and eat with you in relative peace.
