According to Allears El Pirata Y El Perico it is open seasonally. Does this mean just in the summer? We're going the week after Thanksgiving, does this mean we're out of luck?

I have only seen it open one time & that was this past July. Maybe because of the holiday, they will be open, but I would guess not. Good luck

The week after Thanksgiving is traditionally a slower time in WDW, so I wouldn't expect it to be open.
It was open in mid-May of this year, however. Our family loves it :thumbsup2!

That's too bad. I love burgers and the kids love chicken nuggets but it would have been nice to have more variety (especially in the kids meals)

Our favorite counter service (CS) location in MK is Columbia Harbour House. You might consider that as another option (although they do not serve tacos :)). We love to sit upstairs in the room that crosses over the walkway between Fantasyland and Liberty Square--it's good people watching.

:wave2:

ETA: Here is a link to the menu: http://allears.net/menu/men_chh.htm

I would love to knock Pirate off my list but it NEVER open when we visit! Labor Day, mid August, October, December, mid November, its never been open!

El Pirata doesn't serve tacos either, at least not anymore.

The menu was changed recently. They have burritos and nachos and a taco salad. No tacos.

We did see it open when we were there Christmas week. But not when we have been there 4th of July or Labor Day.

It was open at the end of August, although we didn't go in. We did want to try it because DS loves tacos, but if they no longer serve them, it is just as well.

I think it's seasonal because it is small and attached to Pecos Bill, a much larger CS. When it is not open, it provides extra seating for Pecos Bill.

That's a shame. We just ate the tacos there this past May. How hard is it to stuff a taco shell :confused3.

:wave2:

When we are there in March during our Spring Break it is open. Last time we were there, my DS and I got "burritos". They were good, esp. because we could load up with what we wanted at the fixings bar. But honestly, I think it more accurate to call it a big soft shell taco. Before you put anything on it, it is just taco meat on a flour tortilla!

We've eaten there twice and really enjoyed it. The taco salads are big and the fixins bar is nice. It's nothing fancy...think "taco bell". But, we happen to enjoy Taco Bell!

This was my fave place from years ago - love the taco salads! However, for the last several yrs, it has not been open everytime I am there. Including the week betw Christmas & New Year's 08-09 - it even said on the times guide it would be open that day, but was not. I give up!

However, I think i felt better about it because they offered taco salads on Pecos Bill's menu.

We are down here now, and all week it has not only been closed, but instead of the normal rope with the sign saying that they aren't serving today, it was completely walled off with those "pardon our dust" signs - not sure if they are upgrading or changing anything, but this was a definite change from the normal A-board sign out front.

*Sigh* i know it's nothing super special, but in 20 years of going never once have I seen it open!!!! :)

It was open when we were there the end of August. DH was THRILLED! He had been dying to try it for the past 4 years! lol! BUT...it was 100 degrees out and the kids had 0 interest in eating there. :sad2: So we did see it open...but the actual food will continue to remain a mystery to DH for possibly another 4 or 5 years. ;)
