El Pirata Y el Perico @ MK, WHEN are they open?

We always pass by this and NEVER seem to hit it when it is open. WE usually go in August though we have been at other times of year too.

Anyone know WHEN IS THIS PLACE OPEN???

We've been at all times.... Jan/Feb/March/April/May/Sept/Oct/Nov and have never seen it open. Although we've always avoided school vacation

It was open during the P&PP's I attended in 07&08, but not for very long!

This year they were open the last 2 weeks in March first week in APril from 11-3pm. We went because it is DHs fav place and they are alway closed. The food was terrible, greasy and we had heartburn all night long.

It is usually only open during busy times such as spring break, summer, christmas break, etc,

The only time I've eaten there is during Easter... and I loved it!!!!!!!! I always walk by to see if by chance it's open, but it never is!

We were in WDW over Easter once, and as soon as the busy week was over, it closed! I was very bummed, because the taco salad was quite good! I wish they'd keep this place open full-time.

We were there 7/22 - 8/05 and they were open. In fact we ate there for the 1st time last week.

I SO WANT THAT TACO SALAD,
Used to enjoy it at POR till they Took it away there too!!
(I wonder if it is the new "healthier" style thing. Honestly, its a salad with some meat, perhaps protein with chicken would have been better choice for Disney. Either way, Any other "tex mex" type food other than Epcot Mexico area???

It's usually open during peak seasons, but sometimes for only a short time, like 12-3. Great taco bar!!!

They have a really good taco salad at Coronado in pepper market. Although it should come with a warning... must be consumed by 2 or 3 adults!

A couple of years ago I split it with my mom (62), me (35) we were on ddp. and couldn't finish it let alone the dessert. This past January me, my sister(2 yrs older), and her husband (41) split it and still couldnt finish it!

Just FYI, Pecos Bill's next door to El Pirata sells the taco salad. Yum!!!!

We've always gone in Nov and it's always been CLOSED. I don't know why they don't rotate closing CS places instead.

We ate there in May a few years ago but that was the only time they were open. If you want the taco salad try Pecos Bills. I heard they serve the same one. That's what I plan on doing this year.

My DH FAVORITE is Pecos Bills, the turkey wrap, I SWEAR I have NEVER seen a taco salad there???? I must be SO FOCUSED on the wrap I overlook it ??? Too Funny!
Is it a decent sized one or "measly".

They are both good sized, share the same kitchen. It comes in a large shell with meat, and then you dress it at the Fixins bar, so it can be practically as big as you want it. We shared it twice over the 4th.
