I'm unable to play Stairway To Heaven, because theres always someone in the room with me while I play guitar, and as a joke, my cousin made a sign that says "NO STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN" and when theres someone in the room, they always point to the sign, so I'll start laughing, and it's just an epic fail.

Wow, that really sucks.
But if I wasn't allowed to play with anoyone around, then nobody else would be able to, but no one really cares.
Unless you're stopping a record right in the middle of it, then you'll piss someone off.

wow a strat...I was thinking of getting a jaguar(of course a squier...because I have little money) or a nylon string acoustic. And I am improving a lot I can play the main part of Under The Bridge just started playing a little of Stairway to Heaven. I also can play about 4 or 5 Jason Mraz songs.

yeah, it'll more than likely be a squier for me too.
but WHOAH, jaguar's are gorgeousssss.

yeah there is no way i am getting one of those...the highest I will go right now is probably 200 or a little more. I am more in the need of picks, a capo, a better amp, and strings.

I have just started the procesess of learning the Stairway to Heaven solo from a tab :/ Not the best choice, and it's a pretty tricky solo to nail. I haven't gotten too far.

Also the tab for the rest of the song is pretty confusing, i can play bits and parts of it.

My guitar teacher needs me to think of a song for him to teach me but I can't seem to think of one O_O

Thought I'd join in , I did a few lessons and absolutely hated it. So, I decided to teach myself while I'm still not very good yet, I'm better than if I carried on lessons (I was very restricted with lessons). I've changed my style in playing aswell, originally I played in a fast metal style but I got quite bored of that and went for a more classical influenced technique, which I'm still learning.

I'm actually deciding what to do. I've been taking lessons for about a year, but it feels like I'm getting no where. I feel like I should take a break and see how I do on my own...should I take a break?

I take lessons, along with my mom, lol. (yeah we play together.. like a little family band you could say!) I also like teaching myself some stuff like rifs from the books I have.. its awesome stuff.
