Yes, and if they just crawl to Nassau and back. They prefer to have people on the ship to having the ship empty. But they really need to offer those poor people more than the 20% off future cruise. Hurricane is bad luck for everyone, engine failure is something that should be avoided by proper maintenance. This one is on DCL, the weather they can't control.Ugh, is this cruise going to take place??
That was a really nice cruise wasn’t there a couple of overnights on Bermuda. They should really do this itinerary in May or June. It seems like Bermuda gets hit a lot this time of year.I think it’s because Bermuda is a special itinerary that they don’t offer regularly. Lots of people booked only because it was going there.
There was a Bermuda cruise earlier this year as well as far as I remember. That was a really nice cruise wasn’t there a couple of overnights on Bermuda. They should really do this itinerary in May or June. It seems like Bermuda gets hit a lot this time of year.
The larger lines who cruise there regularly get the port slots to dock first. DCL refuses to deviate from their tried and true (boring) routes so they can only get docking slots when they occasionally become available. The good slots in summer rarely open up.That was a really nice cruise wasn’t there a couple of overnights on Bermuda. They should really do this itinerary in May or June. DCL is not sailing to Bermuda next year. It’s one of the few itineraries I’ve not done. The larger lines who cruise there regularly get the port slots to dock first. Missing the island was their fault. Missing Bermuda was an act God so not their fault. It’s the same way airlines decide how to reimburse customers. I think the only reason they offering anything is because it’s such a drastic itinerary change. It’s more than they needed to do for a weather event.DCL has other Bermuda cruises coming up out of New York for 5 days. We were disappointed about not going to Bermuda and were going to continue with the new itenary but now with the engine trouble we decided to cancel and book in the spring. They gave the folks on board that only missed the DCL island a 25% discount on a future cruise. Seems like missing two day to Bermuda and engine trouble they should have been more generous with our vacation..
I think it remains to be seen what they end up doing with the propulsion issues … may be nothing if we have no more itinerary changes …DCL has other Bermuda cruises coming up out of New York for 5 days. They skipped Castaway Cay entirely. Disney offered them $250 OBC and 25% off a future cruiseIn the email that was sent it sounds like they are going to be working on the propulsion system this morning so it could be a non-issue. I wonder how this affected the cruise that is just coming in though. They may have had to cut a port visit short to get back to Port Canaveral on time.
And yet even things that get proper (and constant) maintenance break down. My dad has never missed an oil change or regular maintance on his car, and yet it had some major issues last year that even 100% adherence to the maintenance schedule didn't prevent. Proper maintenance is not a guarantee for no breakdowns.engine failure is something that should be avoided by proper maintenance.
