Do you recommend going all the way to the top or just to the 2nd floor.....

Going on a Thursday or Friday in November if that matters.

Thanks.

Definitely to the top if you can - even if just to say you've done it

We went to the top and they were a lot of queues. I don't know if you can buy tickets in advance as we spent over an hour queuing for tickets!

I would vote to go all the way to the top! We were there a few days ago and the view was well worth it. There were queues to get tickets, to get to the 2nd floor, to get to the top, and then again back down. We waited about 15 minutes to get to the top, but by the time we got back down (around 2 pm or so) the wait was quite a bit longer. I think it make sense to go up earlier in the day and then enjoy the 2nd floor view afterwards.

As for the costs, you can purchase a ticket at the ground floor that either goes to the top or to the 2nd floor. On the 2nd floor you can buy a ticket to the top, if you didn't buy the combined ticket intially. The cost to the top is 13.10 euro (8.10 euro to the 2nd floor plus 5 euro to the top) for adults.

last time i went there i went up to the second floor...our tour leader said its not really worth it to go up to the very top...

If you can, go all the way to the top. The view from the second floor is ok but it doesn't seem that high up. Also, the diagonal lifts to the top are fun! :rotfl:

Yes, definintely go to the top.

You're already there so you should make the most of your visit. It only costs an additional 5 euros (per adult) to take the elevator to the top and there is quite a difference in the height of the second floor and the third.

DON'T DO IT!!!

It's horrible! The lift is scary as hell and the more I look at the tower, the more obvious it seems that it's going to fall any day now!

I've never been so scared in my life! I didn't even get out of the lift, I just went straight back down!!!

I consider myself to be a pretty brave man. I've done a bungie jump, been to the top of other tall buildings (empire state) and very few things scare me. But in that elevator, for some reason or other I had a terrible panic attack and didn't know what to do with myself!

I've now nick-named it the tower of doom. And I wouldn't go back up for £1m!!!

I give it a big "it depends"

If you are pressed for time, or someone in your group is afraid of heights, or you want to spend a decent amount of time exploring the displays on the 1st and 2nd floor, then I would say don't go to the top.

If you have plenty of time, you want to be able to say "I went to the top" and no one is claustrophobic (elevators), afraid of heights, or has a problem waiting in long lines, then go for it.

If you want to go to the top - go early in the day. There are lines for tickets, but there's also a line for the second elevator that goes to the top.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth the extra time/money. You can see further, but you're so far up it's harder to tell what you are looking at. The lines can be quite long, the deck quite crowded. But you do get to say that you went to the top of the Eiffel Tower. If you do go, you can always use the bathrooms up there as another "I did it" experience.

I just started thinking about how high it is when I was booking....I will wait and let my daughters decide once we get there....

I was just there over the summer in a tour group and we only went to the second floor. I really wished we had the time to go to the top, but we didn't. It was beautiful. I would say go for it, if you have the time.
