Sorry Sherry - I didn't think that the note about Fantasy Faire was a spoiler. I felt it was a correction, because the map is misleading and the CMs seemed to be sending folks off to the right place as much as they can so they don't "waste time" (their words) looking in the wrong place. I'll write up my own thread on this year's hunt when I get home so that this thread stays spoiler free.
No problem

. I know you were trying to help and didn't think about it being a spoiler, but it's a spoiler just by virtue of the fact that no one here has done this year's hunt or seen this year's map yet, let alone known about any of the eggs' locations. I only had last year's locations to use for reference in my explanation of how the hunt works. I figured that there would be new hiding spots added in -- if not all new hiding spots -- so I didn't want to know where they were before I could have a chance to look for them on my own (just as you didn't want to look at the first 2 posts in this thread because you wanted to try to find the eggs on your own).
If I had gone to DLR today -- which I was considering doing at first -- I probably would have reported back about the hunt with a general overview in this thread, but not with any specifics.
I think that if this were a more difficult hunt (like the different levels I described on page 1, with smaller eggs in harder-to-find spots), then I could see where some folks might need a little help. But the Egg-stravaganza is very easy, for the most part (you had already spotted nearly half of the eggs in DCA before the maps even went on sale!), and this bit of confusion caused by the misleading map is a minor setback. In fact, it might even be a bit deliberate, just to make the egg a little harder to find -- and I truly think that most of the hunters would know to ask a CM and would eventually find the egg.
Last year I encountered the same sort of scenario -- a misleading clue or two on the map -- except at that point the CMs were
not volunteering any info unless they were asked. They were not offering up hiding spots to prevent people from wasting time (it's not a timed event, so I guess they didn't think it mattered). They only offered the info if confused people came up and specifically asked them for help. I guess this year they are being a bit more proactive in clearing up the confusion, but what some may see as confusion I probably view as more of a challenge!
Yes, if you do a TR, you can put whatever you want in it because it's a trip report about your DLR trip (and I trust there will be lots of fun Easter treat photos too)!
