What is the proportion of egg whites to egg substitutues? I'm on the Zone and am suposed to have 6 egg whites for breakfast. My mom would kill me if I used all the egg whites and threw out the yolks. So, I figuired I would try egg beaters or something like that. How much should i use?

You can buy Egg Beaters (or the equivalent) that are just whites, I think.

You can also buy powdered egg whites (look for Just Whites in the baking section). You could add those to powdered shakes, or whatever, in the morning.

The packages should have equivalents on them.

Egg beaters are egg whites with food coloring. You can also buy just egg whites in a carton, no food color in the dairy section.

There are also powdered eggs whites in the baking section of the market.

This is one thing I don't miss, having to not eat the egg yolks anymore.

I always hate having to waste the yolks, too Wagamama :)

Wagamamma it will be cheaper to use regular eggs and throw away the yolk. Eggbeaters are expensive when you are saying you will need to eat 6 whites for breakfast. I think one little carton is equal to 2 eggs.(That's of the Morningstar brand). You could also freeze the yolks if someone could use them for baking, etc.:D

1/4 cup of egg sustitute is equal to 1 egg!!

I get the egg beaters Whites only. I eat them everyday, they are really good.
