LOVE IT with a HUGE dollop of whipped cream, sprinkled with freshly ground nutmeg. No booze. I like booze, just not in my eggnog. I only like it at the holiday time.

I love egg nog... but only certain brands. I grew up in East Central Indiana and we had a chain of small drive-thru convenience stores (that mostly sold dairy products) called "Miller's Milk House". I LOVED Miller's Milk House egg nog. Drank it straight (not "cut" with milk) and my parents would have to ration it. The main thing about it that's different is that it's sweeter than most egg nogs and doesn't have the aftertaste that most store brand egg nogs have. Sadly I moved to Michigan after college and Miller's went out of business some time after that. I was left in an "egg nog wilderness" for about 15 years, every now and then I'd try a different store brand and go "yuck!" after my first glass... and then I stopped at a convenience store in Michigan on the way home from Lansing about three Novembers ago. The name of this store chain is Quality Dairy. I'd stopped there before, but only in the Spring. As I walked in I noticed they had a banner that announced that "The Egg Nog Is HERE!!!" across the front of the store, and I also noticed that they had special iced bins full of their egg nog by the cash registers. I thought "Wow, people must really like this nog," and bought some. IT WAS JUST LIKE THE MILLER'S RECIPE!!! I was elated. I've been making special stops at QD every season since for some great egg nog!!!

Revolting. Even worse is the signs on all the coffee places advertising egg nog lattes. What a horrible thing to do to perfectly good coffee.

Ahhhhh, eggnog lattes! I have to make my own at home, or I'll go broke at Starbucks, I love them so much.

And I'm normally a black coffee girl.

I like egg nog but only in small doses. This burger place by me has egg nog milk shakes and they're wonderful!

A lot of companies make low-fat eggnog now. I think it's just as good as the real stuff. Sometimes, if all I have is the real stuff, I'll cut it with skim milk to save myself calories.
