Efficient transport from T-Rex to Parks or AKL

I have a dinner reservation at T-Rex in Downtown Disney Marketplace on 1/2/13. We are staying at the Animal Kingdom Lodge and do not have a car.

I read that buses from the Downtown Disney are very slow and take a long time to go to any Park or Resorts. Is that true? Is that a direct bus from the Downtown Disney back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge? How long does it take?

How about going to the Parks from Downtown Disney? Which park is the closest, distance/timewise?

How about taxi? Is it easy to catch a taxi from the T-Rex? what is the estimates taxi fare back to the Animal Kingdom Lodge? We are a big group, probably will need 2 taxis.

Please advise, thanks.

There are no buses that run between DTD and any of the parks. But, there are buses that run between DTD and each resort. You can get cabs at DTD.

The buses do tend to be a bit slower between DTD and resorts..but that doesn't mean that they take forever. I would just head out to the AKL bus stop after eating at T-Rex. It might take up to 20 mins for a bus to get there, or it could be under 5 mins...depends on when the last bus left.

If you want to go to a park, directly from DTD?? You can take the bus to the CR and then walk over to MK. Or the bus to YC/BC and walk to either DHS or Epcot.

DTD buses are slower than park buses, but it's not generally too bad. They usually run about every 30 minutes. Two taxis will cost you about $50 one way.

I would take the bus.

Suggest you go the PI bus stop to get the bus to the resort. It's across the parking lot from T-Rex, in front of Planet Hollywood. That will eliminate the delay of stopping at PI after leaving the Marketplace. AKL is one of the smaller WDW resorts and has it's own bus, so there shouldn't be a problem with the bus filling up at the MktPl,

The other source of delay is stopping at TL, which isn't an issue after dinner.
