Effect of finances on tiered pricing?

Everything I've seen is that Wall Street has been very worrisome about ESPN causing the drop. Not much of any mention both China.
But that's only if you believe what every Wall Street analyst, commentator, publication and the Disney CEO has said...

Other than that everybody loves ESPN.

It's not gonna sell. And there are well documented reasons pointed out in this thread and others.

They had nearly every cable subscriber paying $6 a month imbedded into their bill for it...and nobody made the correlation of just how expensive it was. It was just a check to Comcast or time warner...

Now you want people to pay standalone $25?

And the cord cutting and break down of package cable has just started...it's going to continue to weaken and could be destroyed if more simplistic technology rolls out.

You're far overestimating the broad appeal of ESPN. Give options of paying or not paying for it...it's gonna be a crippling blow.

That is Disneys biggest revenue unit. Almost equal to parks and movies combined. Perhaps Wall Street overreacts...but this line of thinking is ignoring clear signs of failure.

It's not unusual anyway for stock to go down as they issue Q1. There will be people who want to sell who will just hold on until the interim dividend is declared before selling. Our stock is the same always goes down when we publish results no matter how good.

I don't know about that. Most major sports leagues already have their own streaming service. The only thing you would need a ESPN streaming service would be for college sports which most have a streaming service already you just need to enter your cable provider. I know I wouldn't pay for an ESPN service to just watch sports center all the time.
