I just accidentally used my DH's toothbrush!

OK OK so it could have been worse.. I could have used the dogs.. but there is just something so unsettling about using someone elses toothbrush.. even if it is your spouses.

I feel the same way. I accidentally used my son's once and I nearly freaked out. I can't figure out why it bothers me so much. I clean up poop, vomit, wash toilets, etc. with no problem. :confused3

Least you know it wasn't dunked into the toilet and replaced unknowingly. :rolleyes1

Ick!

But it is sooo weird that we all think this way. I am sure you kiss the guy, so what is the difference?

I would feel the same about using my DH's toothbrush too!

Last night on ER, Neela went to brush her teeth, and the roommate's GF was using hers. Now for that I would be MAD!

My question is, are you going to tell your DH??

I think so.. he has accidently used mine before and made a huge point of telling me. Ya know what they say about pay-backs. ;)

It's your husband. Who cares? I am sure you have shared a lot more than plaque.

I did that just last week! My very first thought was yuck! Then I thought we've been married for years and have two kids. How is using his toothbrush more gross than kissing him? So I got over it and he did too.

That's exactly what I was thinking. We have been through thick and thin together, a little plaque isn't going to hurt anyone. Not going into details but he was there at DDs birth and I had a c section. He is "seen" more of me then MANY people so I don't think he would think twice about germs of any kind.

Hmm interesting my DW hates that to but I will use her toothbrush just because she hates it so much it is inda funny watching her get mad at me for it.

Swapping spit is swapping spit. :confused3

Although I doubt anyone would make a regular habit over sharing their spouses toothbrush, using your spouses toothbrush does not correlate to swapping spit. Yuck!

A toothbrush between family members doesn't gross me out near as much as when I have seen toy sharing that goes from one mouth to another. I cringe at the thought of one of my children putting some other kid's toy in their mouth :scared1:

I don't have a problem with swapping spit, but I'm not into plaque sharing. :teeth: I've grabbed the wrong toothbrush several times and known it as soon as I put it in my mouth since his feels different. Yucko! But I did live to tell about it. :rotfl:

I have done this before. It grosses him out much more than it does me...
But here's one that grossed me out--once while I was brushing my teeth, I felt something sharp in my mouth. Pulled it out--it was my husband's TOENAIL. I yelled at him, and you know what his response was? "That's where that one went! I always count my toenails as I'm picking them up after clipping, and I couldn't find number 10! Thank you for finding it!"
