I don't see Joker as a clown though? I see his groupies as clowns and they scare me, but I see the Joker as some twisted freak with bleached skin. (I heard that's how he got the bleached skin, red lips, and green hair, he fell into some acidic/toxic/idk? pool.)

That's the only one that really bothers me. Because it's moving. Several things other than just hands move when he claps...

If they really bother you, you can turn off signatures so you won't see anyones. It dosn't bother me...but I can see how it would bother others.

In the comics yes that is what happened. He was originally a villain named Red hood but batman thwarted some evil thing he was going to do by pushing him in a vat of toxic waste.

In the movie you could clearly tell it was meant to be makeup as at times his forehead would hardly have any paint at all in some spots. and the red on the lips was different. sometimes it extend past the scars sometimes there was blobs on the cheek.

I saw this cute little kid dressed up as the joker on photobucket so i clicked on it and it was BEYOND CREEPY. It was a long faced joker with vampire teeth and it had the joker makeup and EEK
