EEK! DFW to MCO airfare DOUBLE!

Was just poking around over on the American Airlines site and our flights for October have nearly DOUBLED in price!

We bought our tickets in April and paid $722 total for the three of us. Those tickets are now $1412. I wonder if it is because we are closer than 90 days now?

I will say there are still flights on our dates that are close to the price we paid for ours, but not at those times.

Good luck to anyone still trying to decide on flights - I don't know if they are going to get cheaper.

Same thing happened to us. We bought our tickets in February for our trip in 2 weeks. Paid $663 for all three tickets. We were very nervous about seeing the pricing drop. Instead, I kept checking and the prices kept going up & up & up. Right before the 90 day mark one ticket was going for what we paid for all 3!

Yup, same thing happened to us for XNA to TPA, which is usually cheaper than to MCO (we change planes at DFW). I bought 4 AA tickets in May for $983 for our October trip, and I thought THAT was high. They're now almost $1600!

I checked seating for our flights, and they're only maybe 10% full. Our times and flight numbers have already been changed twice, so I'd bet they'll be changed again (booo-hiss!).
