I am 40 next month (25 feb) and my husband recently asked what I would like to do on the big day. I replied, as one does, that I pictured myself sitting somewhere hot with a cold drink in my hand.

Now he has said he wants us to be in Florida for the big day and to book what I can at this late stage.

I'm so excited but now in a big tizzy trying to organise things. We plan to spend the first week down in the keys, snorkling and the like and the second week in orlando where we will spend a few days in the parks and the rest of the time relaxing. This will be our third trip to orlando so we know what we want to do and where to go etc.

I want the second week in a villa, last minute, I know but does anyone know where I could get one at this eleventh hour.

You don't mention number of kids (if any) for this trip. If you're looking for advice/thoughts on Key West accommodation I recently used http://www.hotwire.com to get a great rate at the Sheraton suites of $70 a night for rooms that usualy go for $250+ . It's a bit of a gamble using hotwire because you don't know the exact hotel until after you confirm the booking, but i've never been disapointed with the hotels I've got from them. If you don't want to take a small risk I can recommend the Sheraton as it was a nice hotel, good pool and restaurant, the beach is just across the street and they have a curtesy bus service thatruns the mile or so into the restaurant and bar area in the centre of town. The Sheraton is supposedy the only all suite hotel in Key West, my dd and I shared a one bedroom suite which had a kingsize in the main bedroom and a sofabed in the living room.

You can often get the best deals on hotwire at the last minute, I picked up a room in South Beach Miami for $50 a night that usually goes or $220 and this was the week around Xmas but I did book it just 2 days before check in.

Anyway I checked Key West for your dates and it must be busy (spring break maybe) as the best deals was $180 a night for a 3* hotel.

we have a house 10 mins from disney you can look at our web site www.945durango.com if you are interested we would be glad to rent it out to you for your 2nd weeks holiday.
or give me a call on 0117 3304700 all the best and have a happy birthday donna and andy kyte

Louise,
If you want to go for the easy but maybe more expensive option and like Virign try their tailor made section. I have looked and you can still get flights around the date you want. I tried pricing it up for departing on Feb 23rd and got £2464 which didn't seem to include the villa price even though the intinery showed it!! Maybe a blip in the system but worth a try if competatively priced as it was for a four bed villa in Orlando, C4 car plus platinum package for insurance and the Ocean Key resort in Key West the week before. HTH

We are actually thinking of travelling out on the 13 or 14 Feb to try to include half term. I have three children who are all going to come. Thanks for the info, I will be chasing up all these leads in the next few days.
