Are you able to do EE the morning of the check-in day, if you are on a reservation but the person whose name the reservation is under hasn’t checked in yet?

I wish I could tell you but I don't know for sure. However, I know that you cannot use EE unless you're checked in. If you have the ability to check in (which can be done on your phone), I'm fairly certain you could then use EE. I'm just not sure about whether or not a guest on the reservation can check in ahead of the one who made the reservation.

So the person who the reservation could potentially check in online earlier, then we may be able to get keys at the front desk...may try calling to see

Correct. I think they can actually check in up to 5 days before the trip.
