Hi there :wave2:

Which would you head for first

EE or the Safari

We will be using the morning magic hours in September

Many thanks

:thumbsup2

Definitely EE! I've been on the safari many times and don't minde waiting until later on to see it or skipping it entirely.

I grab fastpasses for EE, ride it, then head to Safari. If the line is too long, grab passes for it (should be right about in your time window) and hit one of the trails.

hi, both get crowded pretty fast, don't know if it would be that way during early morning entry though.

what we do is,
i head for EE to get fast passes while he rest of the family DW and two DD's head for the safari.

if i catch up to them on line i go on the safari too, if not i just wait
for them(usually ride again anyway) and than we head over to EE.

This worked perfectly last week.

Just keep in mind that it is hot for the animals. The earlier you ride the safari, the more you will see.

Fastpass EE and ride safari:thumbsup2

FWIW, I attempted this strategy June 7 and was disappointed.

By the time we got in line for Safari, EE FPs in hand, the standby line was 30 minutes long. Actual wait time was 40 minutes. It was 10:20 when we got off the Safari, meaning in the first 90 minutes we were in the park, we'd experienced only one attraction.

Totally agree with the above. I would get a fastpass for EE but then boogie over to the safari. September is hot and muggy and the animals don't like to come out if its too hot, you'll see more in the morning when its slightly cooler.

Also, we've been twice in September and there just aren't the crowds that there are normally so I wouldn't worry too much about long waits.

I would head for EE first. Get an FP and then get in standby line.

Safari, the animals are out first thing in the morning and they are so beautiful!

I'm torn on this too... it doesn't help that none of us have ever been to Animal Kingdom before, so we can't do the "You guys go on the Safari, I'll just miss it" thing someone mentioned.

My dad swears up and down to do the Safari first, but then again I don't think they ride EE (they may have, but I'm not 100% sure either way)

I think we may get a FastPass for EE, ride EE standby, and then head over to the safari. It should (should!) still be morning when we ride the safari then I believe (on a regular, non EMH day)

When I was there for EMH last August, we went right to EE and then walked onto the Safari...

It worked out very well for us :)

I noted you posted that on another thread. If you missed my answer there, then to put it short here. When you are going to AK during normal hours (ie when there isn't morning emh.)

Everest and Safari get 80% of the initial surge between them. They are fairly far apart. So you can only beat the initial surge to one of them. What you did was beat the surge to Everest and fast passed it. Then you went to the safari and rode it when you did not beat the surge to it. That is backwards. You want to ride the one you beat the initial surge to (Everest) and Fastpass the one you didn't (Safari) While you're waiting for that fast pass to come good, you want to then beat the surge somewhere else. Fortunately, the bulk of the initial surge to Africa is making its way around the safari and thus you can beat it to the trail. By the time you're finished, the fast pass is coming good. So you can hop right on the safari after that. You could have gotten 3 things in instead of 1.

Now when it's not crowded at all, your strategy would have probably been fine.

When we went last October we went to get fastpasses for EE around noon and all the fast passes were sold out for the day so they closed the machines down. I would go to EE first get my fastpasses maybe ride if the line is small then go on the safari.
