We are staying at the PP hotel. As I understand it, we will be granted EE for every day it is offered and can take the monorail into the park. My sister lives in the area and will be joining us, but isn't staying at the hotel. If she has a ticket with EE, can she meet us in the morning and take the monorail with us into the park even though she isn't a hotel guest? Maybe we should just meet her at the gates.....how far of a walk is it?

Also, how does the monorail work? Does each child (we have 4) have to show proof that they are a guest or is their ticket w/ a parent's room key enough? How about for the pool? Do my kids need to show a key to access the pool if they are with an adult with a room key? Are they given a wristband when they check-in?

I think (I could be wrong but pretty sure...) anyone can take the monorail as long as you have your ticket/parkhopper. As far as the pool at PP, no need for room keys or anything. It's open during pool hours for all.

Yes, the monorail is available for any guest, however during peak times they may restrict it to DLR hotel guests. DLR guests also have priority boarding, and your sis will be able to get on with you.

Just an additional bit of info: I have read on other boards that a person with a charge slip from a resort hotel can get in up to 6 people in for EE (if they aren't using their EE from their hopper). Not sure if this is still the case or if they have changed this policy.

I have always had to show my charge slip that has the number of people listed staying in my room and then they check to make sure the number of people I am getting in match up to that number. I have never heard anything about being able to get extra people in with me. Not that you can't, I just have not heard this and have always felt they were checking pretty closely to make sure we matched up. And incidentally, this is a separate slip of paper that lists your dates, the number of people in your room and can have charging privlidges attached to it. Its completely separate from your room key. Unlike the WDW resorts, DLR hotels do not link your key to your park ticket. And yes, anybody can take the monorail. The only thing everyone needs to ride the monorail from DTD to Disneyland is a park ticket. Since it takes you right into the park, you will have to do a bag check and have your ticket scanned before you ride.

I don't think have any priority boarding for hotel guests at the DTD stop. They used to at the Tomorrowland stop but now with the Nemo ride que changing the monorail line que, they don't have that anymore either. At least I didn't see it when we stayed at the DLH last month and took the monorail back most nights.

Children under the age of 14 (I think thats the age cutoff) must be accompanied by an adult. They don't give wristbands since you can only get into the pool areas (as in the pool for the onsite hotel you are staying at, no pool hopping between resorts allowed) with a valid room key. I haven't stayed at PP in almost two years but last time we were there it had a gate to enter through that was accessed via a room key. That pool is up on the third floor of the hotel and has great views of the fireworks at night.
