This is a question for tenters and folks with Tiny TTs that don't have graywater tanks: What do you do with your gray water from dishwashing? Or are there dishwashing stations at the Fort??? I'm talking my little tub of soapy water, not any sort of big tank or anything. This just occurred to me since we'll be cooking at our site. Our upcoming Fort visit will be our first at any sort of big "RV Park" type of CG. We've come up through the ranks of backpacking and canoe camping, then tent/car camping and just this past year with our Aliner. We usually stay at state parks and just do the toss method of getting rid of our wash water where I just toss and dump in a big sweeping motion to spead it out in the woods...but I don't think the sites at FtW are far enough away to do this, right?

Sorry for such a stupid and naive question - I just don't know the protocol!

Thanks guys!

Officially dumping gray water on the ground is illegal.
Take a container (5 gal)to store your gray water in. You can dump it at any empty full hook up site. there are sinks around the sewer drain on these sites making it very easy to dump the container. I have also seen it dumped at the comfort stations into the sinks or toilets. Last week I saw a few of these in the partial hook sites .

I actually run 2 campgrounds in Maine. It is illegal here to dup grey water on the ground. Most people do have the "wagons" as many people call them. The person that posted above has pictured what I would recommend as well. You absolutly want something that is sealed. We have had a few people here dump their grey water into a bucket and it smells really bad. Just my 2 cents :)

I've got a 5 gallon collapsible grey water container. I just take it to the comfort station and dump it there in a toilet, same with my portapotty. Neither has wheels, but I do have one of those folding luggage carts that I roll it there on.

OK, thanks everyone! I knew I'd get a quick answer :thumbsup2

I'll probably follow what you do Carol, and take it to the CS (since I'm guessing that I won't find any empty full hook-ups during Thanksgiving week)...and I'll probably just do it right away after each time I wash dishes and not mess with a holding container of some sort. Works for me!

Thanks again all!

For grey water only (with no human waste), every comfort station has a large set-sink in the laundry room. I'm a sloppy dumper, so I would make a mess dumping in a toilet. You might want to use the sink in the laundry room and then rinse it out real well.

If your aliner (which I think are neat little trailers) has a potty, dump that into a toilet please.:rotfl2:

Thanks for the suggestion Debbie! And yeah, we do have a little potty...that gets emptied into a toilet if we use it (DH is anti-porta-potti, so it is just for me and DS in the middle of the night if necessary) :thumbsup2
