Has anyone from the Edmonton Alberta area been to the passport office lately? What kind of wait times are there and how long to expect it to be mailed to you? We are procastinators mostly because we have heard of the horrific wait times and also haven't had to fly anywhere since August 2006 our last Disneyworld trip, but we are coming up on Disneyworld Trip #2 in the fall and need to get our butts in gear. Any idea? Thanks

My Mother was there a couple of weeks ago, on a wednesday and said she was only there for an hour.

Much better than it was earlier in the year!!

Passport Canada is runing about a 2 week turnaround in their offices. About 12 weeks by mail. I just went to the Windsor office (I live in the USA) and was able to go back to pick up the passport in two weeks. It costs $10 extra per passport to pick up (I had to as I was coming from the USA). Depending on how much time you have you may want to pick them up. Don't mail them if your vacation is any time this year, it just isn't worth the stress.
