Edited...

I must be crazy but I feel bad for the little guy. Yes he was wrong in opening the locked closet, but....... Maybe, you won't be so angry as the days pass and it get closer to X-mas. I'm sure he'll be extra-extra good from now on. Maybe, if he is extra good, and does everything he's supposed to do, you'll change your mind and give it to him. I know he hurt you by doing this, but, I'm sure he's a good kid otherwise. Lets all try to remember when we were kids, how we would all really wonder and daydream what santa was bringing us. I say, go alittle easy on him, I'm sure he's soooo sorry .....

I just wanted to commend Mermaid02 for demonstrating for her son what she's trying to teach him. Well done! :)

BTW - I did read the original posting & was on page 2 when she edited. I have to say I'd be inclined to return the gift & leave it at that. It's only one gift - not all of Christmas. While I like the "sticks" idea, I'd be hesitant to use it if the gift is going back. It would be more like retaliation or vengeance than teaching a lesson. I doubt humiliating him will achieve the desired results.

The situation crz4mm2 described was somewhat different. Both girls were in on the "deed" and were not confronted ahead of time.
