My MIL can't do stairs very well (especially after a day in the parks). Are any GVs on the first floor? I forget--are any in buildings that have elevators?

Editing to include SSR. Are any of those GV's on the first floor but non-HA?

I believe all OKW GVs are on the second floor. However, there are some in the Miller's Road area near the Hospitality House in buildings with elevators.

You need to call MS back and request an elevator GV through special needs. There are two GVs in building 63 (elevator building), but one is HA with lower counters etc. The other is a regular GV, but will have the elevator access. The only ground floor GV is in building 48 and is a HA GV. The HA GVs will need to be arranged through special needs.

I would feel uncomfortable going through special needs. She really has trouble with stairs (waiting for hip replacement) but we're not really special needs. I wouldn't want to take it from someone who could only stay at OKW in an accessible unit.

Well, one of the three mentioned GVs would not be HA, and it's worth checking to see if it's available. It still would have to be gauranteed as a medical need though. The only time we have ever been in an elevator building is when we had a medical need for someone who was using an ECV.

To answer your added question about SSR....All SSR GVs have elevator access, so no problem there.

To add to Diane's post about SSR:

The GV's are 2 floors (lower level is on 2nd floor, upper level is on 3rd floor).
However there are outside doors on both levels, so you can get to both levels using the elevators.
