My son will be 10.5 when we go on the fantasy. I think he enjoyed the kids clubs last year but wondering if he'd be allowed to check out the Edge, or are they strict with the age limits?

My daughter turned 10 in June we were on the Alaska Aug 18, it was her 4th cruise and she was so board, they asked her if she wanted to move to the Edge, and assured her she could go back in on our upcoming panama cruise

From what I understand it will largely depend on the number of kids in the Edge's actual age group as to whether he might be allowed or not. If it is full of kids of the actual correct age, probably not. If there is space, possibly.

It will depend on the demographics of your actual cruise. Sometimes they invite the 10 yr olds to move up to Edge, other times they do not have enough space and 10's must stay at the Club/Lab. I'd prepare your child to attend the Club/Lab, and if allowed to move up it's a bonus.

Enjoy your cruise!

They have a list in Edge with the kids names on it and will likely check from that if allowed. As mentioned it's based on the amount of kids and the ages on board. My DS was allowed in Edge on the Fantasy over Spring Break this past April at 10.5 but he didn't go.

We just got off the Wonder (he's 11 now) and he was indeed on the Edge list and she highlighted his name on the sheet of paper at open house and put an Edge sticker on his KTTW card.

He's not much of a club kid but he thought it was cool to move up :)

Hmmm, can they do both? My kids will be 9.9 and 10.9 on our next cruise. I can see the almost 11 year old wanting to try the Edge, but could she also hang out on the regular club with her younger brother? Or do they have to pick one club?

The ages for the Club/Lab are 3-12 and Edge is 11-14. Children in the overlap ages (11 & 12) can go back and forth between the two spaces. Don't know for sure, but I'd hazard a guess that a 10 year old who was allowed to use the Edge space would also be allowed to go back and forth.

As noted, they may (or may not) allow a 10 year old to go to Edge, depending on how many children of the correct age for that club are onboard.

We were on the Dream Thanksgiving cruise, and we were advised at check-in that we could sign a waiver to allow our 10yo DS to go to the Edge. They didn't mention anything about it depending on the demographics of the cruise, and the Thanksgiving cruise was very crowded. We went to the edge with DS and DD 12. DD was on the list. When we signed the waiver for DS, he was given an Edge sticker on his key to the world card like my DD.

While the cruise may have been crowded, it's possible that the max number of 11-14 year olds onboard for your cruise may not have been reached. They would be aware at check-in whether there would be availability to offer Edge to 10 year olds. Also possible - Club/Lab was at it's maximum number, and they were trying to shift some kids to Edge to even out the load.

Yes my DS was allowed to go to both and when we did Palo Brunch he went to the Lab/Club.
