Wow! That looks like a spoonful of alphabet soup.

If you have an early ADR is the place to rent ECVs open or will you have to come back out to rent one after park opening time? If I have a 7am Crystal Palace ADR on an 8am day can I get my ECV before breakfast or do I have to get it afterwards?

Thanks for any help.

You may have to call Disney direct on this one to be positive.

My opinion would be that you would probably have to do the rental after breakfast.

Sure sounds like it. Did I stump the DIS boards? Lol:joker:

I will just plan using the assumption that we will have to rent after rope drop.

The ECV rental location will be open whenever guests are allowed into the park -- even early ADRs. However, I don't know if CM's at the gate will allow you in any earlier to allow time to do rental. You may need to go back simply due to time, especially if others entering at the same time are doing rentals as well.

Enjoy your vacation!

Okay so I can actually give some insight about this, a few years ago before my mom had her own powerchair we rented a wheelchair for her from the parks. We had an early (before park opening) ADR at CP, while we were in line waiting before we could go to the restaurant I asked the CM if I could go in and rent a wheelchair to bring back to my mother. The CM was very nice, said the rest of my party could wait in line and let me in to go to rent the wheelchair. It took only a few minutes, I was able to get the wheelchair and take it back to my mom, she then had it for the short wait and to use to get to CP (and he rest of our day, of course).

So I would certainly ask the CM at the line up for early ADRS and see if they will let you run over and get your rental, no gaurentees one way or another, just sharing our experience!

I am wondering the same thing, so thank you. After some comments from friends and relatives about renting off site, she now insists on renting at the park. Grrrrr... I had her all set up for a rental.

This is none of my business, but as someone who has rented an ECV numerous times from off-site vendors, she really should reconsider. There is a ton of walking from the bus stops into each park. Plus time spent standing in lines, lines to enter the park through bag check, lines to get on the ferry, lines (and steep hills) to ride the monorail, waiting for the buses, etc. Not to mention the amount of walking required around your resort. Plus sometimes the parks run out of ECVs to rent to park guests, as its first come, first served. She really will be more comfortable if she has her own ECV rental from an offsite vendor for all the walking required to do Disney. Not to mention how much cheaper it is to rent offsite.

I completely agree! For now, I have kept the reservation. I am going to work on her some more.
I had her completely on board after coaxing her to rent one. But, she has had two people comment that people will get annoyed with her and/or they can't believe she'd use a scooter. Mind you, these people aren't even going on the trip. Nor do they struggle with a knee problem/heart issues. She has to do what will make HER comfortable. It is our trip and she should be comfortable, especially in July heat. I am so mad at these people. She is so self conscious now. Just because they are mobile, doesn't mean others are lucky enough.
