ECV's and Fast Passes

My family and I have done the parks many times and have always made great use of the fast pass system. Because of a foot injury I just got, next week I'll be using an ECV for the first time at the parks. Should I still collect fast passes? If I've read correctly, it sounds like just because I'm in a scooter doesn't mean that I'll have front of the line privileges. So if I use fast passes like everyone else, how does that work? Do I show the CM my FP, park my ECV and go thru the disabled line holding my FP to show the next CM? Or are the disabled expected to use the same FP lane as everyone else? I can be on my feet for a little bit, but can't walk for very long.

Also, I'll be alone on 2 park mornings. (Actually still debating on whether I should try the parks alone with an ECV when I'm barely used to it, or just head to the pool instead.) If I do go to the parks, what about utilizing single rider lines? Is that possible or unnecessary? Just trying to be efficient with my time.

I love all rides and I can transfer, but I'll be wearing a boot, so some transfers might be too tricky, especially if I'm alone and don't have someone's hand to grab onto. I would welcome anyone's comments on this. I tried to read the sticky on all the rides and transfers, but it's a lot of info to learn on short notice and my head is swimming with it all! :crazy2:

Kind of off topic, but I was reading about using the railroad at Magic Kingdom. Is that something I can't do since I have an ECV? It sounded like I'd transfer to a wheelchair, but where would my ECV end up? :confused3

Almost all lines are mainstreamed. This means that you can go all the way to Load in the ECV. If Unload is exactly the same as Load you will just park the ECV and get it when you get off. If Load and Unload are not the same location, leave the ECV at Load and it will have magically appeared at Unload by the time you get there.

If the line is not mainstreamed (such as having stairs) you will generally go either part way through the regular line and then be pulled out or you will be directed to an alternate entrance.

Don't worry about it, the CMs at attractions generally know what to do.

There are very few attractions with single rider lines. Today I did go to Everest in my ECV and used the SRL.

The only transfer that may be very difficult is Space Mountain.

Thanks for the helpful comments, Cheshire. I guess I'm gonna have to just "chill" a bit and take things as they come with this trip. Normally, I like to be able to plan and picture everything ahead of time and know what to expect going into it... where to go, what to do, etc. Since there's not enough time for that, this trip will be a whole new learning experience for me, of seeing things from a brand new perspective and being okay if things aren't perfectly planned out ahead of time.

BTW, I took a look at your ticket information thread. Nicely done! Thanks for sharing all of that great info! :thumbsup2 I'm probably going to upgrade to an AP on this trip, so I especially appreciated the tips on that.

So, as for the railroad, is that something I won't be able to do because of my ECV? I know I shouldn't worry about it, but I'd rather not go all the way up the Main St. ramps, only to find out I can't ride!

Just agreeing with Cheshire Figment.

If you want to ride, you would need to do a round trip. There is a wheelchair accessible train car, but it is not ECV accessible.
You would park the ECV where you are shown and the ride all the way around to the same station to pick it up again.

Okay, that's what I figured. Now that you mention it, I recall doing this with my parents a number of years ago when they were both using ECV's.

Thanks for the reply! :)
