A kind DISer has informed me that there are no buses between the Wilderness Lodge and the Settlement (i.e. Hoop de Doo) area of Fort Wilderness Campground.

So, are the boats from WL the kind that you can board with an ECV? If not, do you have another recommendation for me? I really appreciate the input. The ECV is new to us.

I would probably take the paved path. The boats that run between the Fort and WL are usually the smaller ones which cannot accommodate an SUV. When we were there last fall I thought it went to the Settlement but if it goes to the Outpost you would need to change buses.

If your companion can handle the walk that would be most direct.

Their is a internal bus stop at wilderness lodge a bus driver told me that. When I asked him about transferring from fort wilderness to wilderness lodge to be able to take the mk bus. I will try to get in touch and get more info if that okay with you.

I asked him via pm so we see when he answer he might be busy he is a driver for Disney. He works hard to ensure all guest get a safe and fun trip and all guest in ecvs are treated with respect.

Here what he wrote me about mk buses hope it helps a little while he responds.

"There are buses between MK & WL, but not directly between MK & FtW. IMHO, the bus is usually much faster than the boat.

There is also bus service between WL & FtW. It goes directly to the Settlement, and then continues on one of the FtW internal shuttle routes.

This provides an option for someone who cannot or does not want to ride the boat from FtW to MK. They can ride the bus to WL, and then transfer to the bus from WL to MK."

I can confirm there is a bus from WL to FW as I have actually taken it. It was a nice quick ride. I got lucky and only waited a few minutes for it to show up at WL.

Yes there is a bus that continues on to the settlement area from WL as we often take it because it is a quicker option for us camping near the settlement.
